Did God got angry?

At least nine people have died in South Africa after they drowned during a flash flood along the Jukskei River in Johannesburg, emergency services said on Sunday.

They were swept away during a baptism ceremony, officials said. It is believed another eight people are still missing.

Why would God allow that, just wondering?

God is Creator, meaning that he created the Laws of Nature. So, yes, he is responsible for what Nature does. The question of why does God allow bad things to happen to good people has never been satisfactorily answered by any religion or philosophy. The answer is that we simply don't know why.

Considering it doesn't take much to provoke their god to violence one of them may have accidentally wore polyester scivvies.

It has been satisfactorily answered, you just have to accept there is no divine intervention going on. Then it all makes sense with no stretches or ponderings or shortcomings in conclusions when good people have a bad life and those such as Nazis get to die of old age comfortably in their bed.

The world is beautiful, and the world is terrible. Human nature is beautiful, and it is terrible. It’s part of what makes life so epic. Embracing God(s), and worshipping God(s), does not free you from the inevitable chaos, suffering and death you are bound to go through as a human experiencing life.

because God would expect his followers to have the common sense to stay away from rivers when conditions are right for flash floods...and they didn't, so...

God never gets angry. Death is no more than a change. Through every tragedy some goodness results. Look for the changes. How many lives will be saved learning how quickly one can be swept away in that river?

They say the good die young. How many will strive to be like these people copying their goodness since their goodness will no longer be around? Who knows how many will rise to a Higher Level choosing the goodness and examples these people served?

Multi-angular!! To see the real picture one must view much more than any one event. Like ripples in water, any one event can be farther reaching than one will ever see.

One thing I do know. God's actions are never through wrath or anger regardless how anyone might try to convince you they are.

That's what I see. It's very clear!!

It's life. Stuff happens. As to death ... anybody, anyplace, anytime ... don't be surprised.

It was the devil. Gods anger is lukewarm, and is the punishment for sinners in prison/hospital world ever after, where hell will be laid to rest. Hate is made the cold night, a pure force of negative energy, and then darkness is placed in it the night as it’s keeper. The world should be only Heaven, even if you live to only get help, your life is worth it. If you want to be save of suffering, then certainly save suffering itself.

I fully agree, and how could bad things be prevented from happening unless God intervened in the natural world and intervened in man's free will decisions?

The hundred dollar questions are:
Why would God intervene?
Why should God intervene?

The typical atheist answer "because God is omnipotent" is not a logical answer. Just because God is all-powerful, that does not mean that God would or should use that power to make sure nobody ever suffers in this world. Moreover, God created this world knowing that it would be a storehouse of suffering, so there must have been a reason God created it as such. Why would God try to prevent the suffering that was built into the world He created? It makes no sense.

But it is a WHOLE LOT EASIER to explain why the world is both beautiful and terrible at the same time, to assume that there is no "god" at all doing anything.

Look at your argument! Look carefully. You make one -- and only one -- assumption: that God exists and is responsible for a bunch of stuff.

And then you have to work out why that might work sometimes, and not work other times, and how to make sense of it all. And it can't be done.

But it is as simple as pie if you just suppose that everything is natural, not under the control of any entity like a "god" at all. Suddenly, there are no enigmas.

or maybe there is a God, but God isn't doing anything to make the world any more beautiful or any less terrible.
Why would God do that if God existed?

It is also as simple as pie if you believe everything is natural, and God does not intervene in the natural world.
The hundred million dollar question is why atheists believe that it is God's responsibility to intervene.

The real question isn't that why " bad" things happen. The question is why good exists at all if God isn't loving.
Everyone dies. Is this a bad or good thing? That depends entirely upon your perspective.
Without a loving God in existence, there's no reason to believe anything is inherently good or bad anyway.
People try to find a reason for everything, and sure everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is simply that somebody did something foolish.

What is beautiful and what is terrible?
Those are just random concepts, unless you have some basis for defining what is what, something bigger than your own mind.

and sometimes the answer is that it was simply fate.
Since we are all connected directly or indirectly, if a person does something foolish or evil, it often affects other people, and the consequence of that action becomes the fate of other people.
