Satan was "allowed" to fool the world, yet is kept alive?

"The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him."
Revelation 12:9, NIV:

Its a difficult thing to understand. Why was this Satan character was allowed to deceive so many and for so long? Some say it was forseen before the foundation of the world! How could he take down others in the celestial world? Clearly he had more powers and authority than a mere rebellious cherub? He is even given the tile "God of this world"? Isn't there only One God?

From the previously fallen "crafty beast" (already evil when he met with Eve) to the reawakening for another reign of deception, evil and destruction after a 1,000 year detention, this devil figure has been tolerated on high! Throughout the Old Testament the devil lives on while sooooo many were killed! In the flood story all the world is drown except Noah and his inlaws, everything on earth killed! But Satan lives on???

Revelation 20:1-3

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

I'm curios how others treat this issue?

It is easy for atheists ... Satan like god(s) is an invention of man and does not exist.
See, it all makes sense now.

What the character represents certainly does exist. And the intent of the story was to help people see it, and ponder it's existence. And maybe even learn to try and avoid exemplifying it. But some people are just too dim for that to happen.

God operates within the bounds of eternal law. As such Satan was allowed to rebel and try fight against God and His plans.

Job poetically laws out some of the limits in place.

In order for us to really grow we need to be challenged. Christ provides a way for us to overcome Satan and all his lies.

So, are you saying that it was Gods will for Satan to rebel in order for man to learn spiritual lessons and grow?

I would not say it was His will, but He allowed it to happen.

Much like Judas’ betrayal of Christ’s known about way ahead of times but not something God wanted or caused.

Why was this Satan character was allowed to deceive so many and for so long?
Satan means an accuser, and devil means a slanderer.

These are aspects within our reality where people can be accusative, and slanderous... Like our News in this world is all about sensationalized accusations, and slandering.

The reason our world has been corrupted by it, is because we don't acknowledge spiritually that we should try to prevent that nature within us...

It has been externalized, so that we can blame/accuse something out there, that then made us do it.

This is where I live by: "if a finger points, three point back"... Thus before accusing others, question are we responsible, and can we elevate the situation by our reply, rather than just criticize.

How could he take down others in the celestial world?
The terminology Heaven/Sky is messed up in translation, and because some people had ideas of a fallen angel, who was one of God's highest that rebelled; this has become mainstream, as people like to externally blame, rather than take responsibility for our actions.

Thus Heaven is a place of perfection at the highest levels of dimensional quantum physics, it is mathematically impossible for dark forces to exist there; as in my Near Death Experience, I perceived that the first level of Heaven consists as a dimension of unconditional love, and the next is wisdom - which are both incorruptible.

It is this world where the accusers get challenged in the sky (internet), and we need to understand it isn't long before many accusers die in the Great Tribulation.
He is even given the tile "God of this world"?
Though Yeshua said this world is the top floor of Hell (Gehenna - Matthew 23:15); the Gospel of John was made up by the Sanhedrin to match Gnostic ideas.

Where I believe in the Pharisees corrupting the New Testament on purpose, they're the accusers/slanderers that have taken over this world.

This is where it calls them the Synagogue of Satan, as they've created much of Christianity, and in doing so, detrimented theology globally.
Isn't there only One God?
God is the Source of reality, and it is made from random quantum chaos; which means we're in a realm between light & dark, Heaven & Hell...

Which is where our world has become so corrupted from our lack of comprehension.
Revelation 20:1-3

I'm curios how others treat this issue?
Because the Pharisees corrupted the New Testament (John, Paul, Simon) accusing what Yeshua put forward; then the Quran tried to correct it, and in doing so causing even more of a mess...

Soon all these accusative factions will fight in the Middle East (Armageddon), and then Betelgeuse will be seen supernova, where our world will be bombarded with meteors.

Then after God resurrects those who've not aspired to be accusers, and slanderers; as they've recognize those evils, and turned towards the light.
20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven
I believe we can prove the angel in Revelation 10 was me, three years before reading the Bible; where my name is in many of the world's religions as the name of the Creator, and Messiah...

Yet on telling people online about it over the last 18 years, they generally tell me, "that is wrong", "that isn't right", and hardly anyone goes the extra mile in the same direction; it is always equal or opposite reactions.

in my opinion.

A world of imperfect beings without mercy and repentence would destroy itself. In order to introduce these into creation God created satan to tempt Adam and Eve into sin for the purpose of teaching them to repent so that God could have mercy on them. In return, satan gets to be "the most cursed of all the beasts" which carries a certain acclaim.

No, he said Jehovah has lost his special place and influence in society, being relegated to an empty husk of his former significance. Ergo god is dead.
God is not Dark Energy. Presence of God curves the spacetime to make it expand. Expansion is not God. The reason for expansion is God. God is source of all that good happens, Universe expands. It is very good. Hence, it is presence of God showing in the form of Dark Energy.

I don't believe that..
Almighty God knew that satan would rebel, because he is knower of all things.
Similarly, He knows that many of us will fall into temptation.

satan is "the father of lies". There are many devils among mankind, who have the same attitude as satan.
They want to bring down the righteous people through spite and arrogance.

The bottom line, is that it doesn't matter whether satan still exists or not .. Evil comes from within ourselves and others.
We have been created with the freewill to follow a righteous path .. OR NOT.

The way I deal with it is with an analogy. Computer science is developing AI or artificial intelligence, with the longer term goal of conscious computers. We will first notice conscious computers, not by something beneficial that they will do, but more likely by something contrary that happens, that is not part of their original programming; terrible twos.

The first willfulness of the two year old child; terrible two's, or the baby computer consciousness, will be recognized by them denying or acting contrary to what they are programmed to do. If you ask the little child anything, the answer is no. They cannot say a constructive alternative, yet, but can show choice by becoming contrary. The small child can destroy a priceless vase, but cannot build a house with blocks, just yet.

Satan was connected to the natural progression of free will and choice; ego, starting at the terrible two's. Satan was more in line with the terrible two's nature of budding consciousness that is contrary to God's program. This rebellion and negativity is slowly replaced by positive creativity, until the conscious computer builds a better computer.

Satan is around, sealed and then released. This is symbolism of how the operating system of the human brain evolves ego-centric free will and choice. The ego is a secondary center and is quite new. It appears from the matrix of the natural brain, with its first steps being contrary to instinct/god; tree of knowledge. The ego grows via law of good and evil, to become good; Satan sealed. Satan is released again due to another type of conscious computer appearing fro that matrix. Satan is then sealed forever. We become an inner self; primary or main frame type of consciousness.

That has nothing to do with Nietzsche's frequently misunderstood quote.

I agree that many of these Bible characters and stories are symbolic and not to be interpreted literally. I see many Christians struggle to make sense of a literal interpretation of the Bible, and it just isn't doable.

It's obvious that believers are adoting an interpretation and trying to justify it in their own minds. The title of the thread is a bit ironic as I suggest Christianity is allowed to fool believers with these fantastic stories.

Too dim, eh!
If I've decided that Satan doesn't exist, then doesn't that mean that I've pondered its existence?
But I'm obviously too dim to understand that.
