Atheists: If God existed would God……

Are you really denying you said this?
"The Baha'i Writings are expansive, more expansive than the silly Bible".
No, I am not denying it since it is all there in black and white.

So I called the Bible silly once, big deal. Atheists have said much worse things about the Writings of Baha'u'llah over and over and over again. But that's okay, just don't ever criticize the Bible. What a double standard.

The Bible can never be criticized *by me* although atheists are constantly criticizing the Bible all over this forum.

No, Tony, I do not think it is best if Tb's irrational statements are 'left alone'. It is time she learned to think before she hits 'post reply'.
There was nothing irrational about what I said, it was just my personal opinion. We all have those.

You will never stop following me from thread to thread and criticizing me, but you cannot stop me from posting my beliefs or opinions anymore than you can stop anyone else.

Why you cannot leave me alone only God knows.

So it's OK for you to call Christian Scriptures 'silly'? Really?

My actual view of the Bible is as follows. The Bible is a source of spiritual guidance but it is no longer needed because it was written for another age in history, and we now have the Writings of Baha'u'llah for spiritual guidance, for new social teachings and laws, and we now have a new message for this age, the oneness of God and religion and the unity of mankind. As long as people continue to cling to the Bible they will never move on.
I believe that the wisdom contained in the many books of the Bible is wisdom for every age.
(Unless it is read literally and out of context, of course, in which case the wisdom will be hidden).

Personally I offer that the Bible to me is sure and sound spiritual guidance. I
But one of the main beliefs of many Christians include Satan, the resurrection and that people cannot save themselves... they need to accept the price that was paid by Jesus to gain eternal life and avoid being cast into hell. That is not "sure" spiritual guidance. If the Baha'i Faith is true, all of that is false. We all can get some useful stuff from the Bible, but to call it "sure" and "sound"?

I'd understand that if you were a born-again, evangelical Christian, but not a Baha'i. A Baha'is I would expect to say things like the Bible is not 100% authentic. And not as authentic as the Quran. And that the only verses that can be trusted are those quoted in the Baha'i writings.

Do you understand that it is best if you left that alone? That would be the nice thing to do after stirring someone up as to make an off handed comment, they have since long forgotten.
No, she will never stop Tony and she will never forget. She will continue to follow me from thread to thread and look for every opportunity to criticize me. This has been going on now for well over a year so there is no reason to think it will ever stop.

44: O COMPANION OF MY THRONE! Hear no evil, and see no evil, abase not thyself, neither sigh and weep. Speak no evil, that thou mayest not hear it spoken unto thee, and magnify not the faults of others that thine own faults may not appear great; and wish not the abasement of anyone, that thine own abasement be not exposed. Live then the days of thy life, that are less than a fleeting moment, with thy mind stainless, thy heart unsullied, thy thoughts pure, and thy nature sanctified, so that, free and content, thou mayest put away this mortal frame, and repair unto the mystic paradise and abide in the eternal kingdom for evermore.
The Hidden Words of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 37

And of course the Bible says something very similar.

Matthew 7:3-5 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

So I called the Bible silly once, big deal.
You tried to hide the truth, and are now trying to create conflict between Christians and Bahais. And your goal is peace and brotherhood.
But when it comes to prophesies, you readily accept Bible. Munafiqun (opportunists, carpet baggers). :D

You call it criticism; I call it encouraging you to think.

Like usual you provide no evidence for your claims.

(I fully expect your usual childish response.)
I won't provide any details, because @Trailblazer doesn't want it to be public, but she is having really hard time right now. Let up a little. She isn't her usual self right now.

Not just childish but also highly deplorable, just like that of an ill mannered child.
Let up on her. @Trailblazer is having a hard time right now in her life. This is affecting what she is saying here. I won't tell you what is happening in her life, because she wants it to be private. I won't violate her trust.

Yes, manifestations and progressive revelation are the issue. And it is more than just Abraham and Moses, it might include Adam and Noah. If it does, why does Judaism need four manifestations? Especially when Hinduism is only given one. But if Baha'is accept Krishna, why not the other incarnations of Vishnu? I think it is much easier just to call it all religious mythology. Why does any of it have to be real and true? And, what weird, is Baha'is don't believe it is real and true. They believe it is all fictional, symbolic stories. But Baha'is make the characters in those stories read and historical?

It is unknown how many Manifestations have appeared on the Indian Subcontinent CG. In the Writings it says it will be up to future historians to sort out these questions. I would expect there to be more.

I expect them to be identified in many Nations amongst many peoples. No people were left without guidance, suited to the age and people it was given to.

Armed with the power of Thy name nothing can ever hurt me, and with Thy love in my heart all the world's afflictions can in no wise alarm me.
Bahá’u’lláh, Prayers and Meditations by Bahá’u’lláh, p. 208

It took me a while, but I finally realized that when everything else is taken away, all I have left is God.
It's a hard lesson.
I have medallion hanging from my neck right now that says the above quote, with the greatest name symbol I saw hanging from your neck today on one side. Way to go, Susan.

Reminds of this prayer that I offer every morning. Note the start of the 2nd verse, that has always made me think. Many writings tells us where to put our ultimate trust.

"The following commune is to be read … every day:
O God! O God! This is a broken-winged bird and his flight is very slow—assist him so that he may fly toward the apex of prosperity and salvation, wing his way with the utmost joy and happiness throughout the illimitable space, raise his melody in Thy Supreme Name in all the regions, exhilarate the ears with this call, and brighten the eyes by beholding the signs of guidance.

O Lord! I am single, alone and lowly. For me there is no support save Thee, no helper except Thee and no sustainer beside Thee. Confirm me in Thy service, assist me with the cohorts of Thy angels, make me victorious in the promotion of Thy Word and suffer me to speak out Thy wisdom amongst Thy creatures. Verily, Thou art the helper of the weak and the defender of the little ones, and verily Thou art the Powerful, the Mighty and the Unconstrained. —‘Abdu’l-Bahá"

That is one of my favorite prayers. I memorized that prayer over 40 years ago along with about 20 other prayers, including the Tablet of Ahmad.... and I still have it memorized...
I have an eidetic memory.
Probably you memorized that particular prayer since you live in the Western United States.
