Anti sodomy laws?

Isn’t the US supposed to be secular though?

Our governance is supposed to be.
Folks, there you have it, in a nutshell.

What does it matter if your neighbor to the east is a Christian, and your neighbor to the west is an atheist? Or that the family across the street are Reform Jews who don't spend much time thinking about religion, or that there are some Muslims around the corner?

All of that can exist just fine within the context of a secular state -- religion and secularism side-by-side with no fuss at all.

Problems only come up when the neighborhood committee decides that only Christian displays (or Muslim, Jewish, whatever) are allowed on the lawns in front of the house (don't matter what you hide in the back where decent folk can't see it, ya know?)

I have a question for people who think religion is everything: how do you use your religion when you're filling your gas tank? Or do you ***** and moan about the goddam cost? What does your piety have to do with the state of your lawn? Or whether there might be a halal eatery at the strip mall two blocks over?

In fact, what does it matter to you who the guy seven blocks away prays to? Does his belief challenge yours? Then maybe yours isn't freaking strong enough -- and that's your fault, not his!

I don't really get into politics.
What they do, they do. It's their stage, and they are just being willing... or unwilling puppets. :D
Fair enough.
I agree with your assessment of politicians for the record lol

Could be. May be.
How would a normal citizen like me, who has little interest in governmental affairs know what's going on behind the scenes? :D

So obviously this has been hinted at a great deal since the infamous R v W decision.
Now not being American I won’t pretend to understand how that would work. Just that from the outside looking in, it looks like the US is vying to be the most archaic and backwards modern civilisation in modern history.
Sorry.
That’s just how it looks on the world stage.

Now I’m hearing that many of the US states are going to try to reinforce anti sodomy laws.
Is that seriously what you guys want?

Have at it, guys. Chat, discuss and debate about it.
I’m just thankful that my country actually has some freedom.;)

Well, they are going to have to catch people at it, hetero or homosexual, which is kind of voyeuristic. How will they do this? Will they have suspecting neighbors peeking in to see?

No, but spam is. @SomeRandom knows what I am talking about... lest he's getting old and forgetful. :D
Replying with a Yikes is not spam, my friend. It is a snarky response, admittedly. But as I do not wish either of us to get into trouble, let us agree to disagree.

At least you live by your principles
More than I can say for some (particularly politicians lol)

Some gods are petty. Not many though. Most are pretty chill.
Mata Kali isn’t. Interesting little aside, traditionally speaking, the equivalent of the LGBTQ+ community in Hindu terms are thought to be under her explicit protection.
So technically standing up for say trans rights is a religious gesture for some. (Depending on one’s interpretation.)

Yes, Kali is not. I like her anyway. After finishing reading this, I like her more.

Isn't their an image of Shiva/Parvati as one? That is used in support of trans rights in India?

Edit: here it is.
