John 14:6

Will all those who heard about Christ in other parts of the world be given a second chance? It seems to me they were not given as fair a chance as those who happened to be born to born to Christians, for instance, and were conditioned by their parents and culture to accept Christ almost automatically without thinking the issues through. Those in India tended to reject Christ because of their conditioning by their parents and culture. Is this fair?

When Jesus spoke of the resurrection, he did not specify that only christian believers would be resurrected.
What he said was "
" all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out "
This was understood by the Apostles of Christ to mean that almost all people will be brought back. The good and bad.
Acts24:15 And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection+ of both the righteous and the unrighteous.+

When Jesus was speaking unbelieving religious leaders he said this

41 Men of Ninʹe·veh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, because they repented at what Joʹnah preached.+ But look! something more than Joʹnah is here.+ 42 The queen of the south will be raised up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solʹo·mon.+

The men of Ninevah will be resurrected. A pagan worshiping nation. And the queen of the south will be brought back in the resurrection...none of these groups were even worshipers of Jehovah. They worshiped false gods of other religions.

So we can trust that people from all parts of the earth who never got to hear the good news about the Christ will be restored and given that opportunity.

Its marvelous!

We must appreciate that the creator Jehovah is the God of all mankind. He is the creator of all nations and therefore he rightly deserves the worship of all mankind in the way he chooses.

Therefore, he sent a spokesperson from the heavens to be the one that all nations could look to, learn from and received salvation through.

If we choose some other path, we are simply rejecting Gods means of salvation that he provided in Jesus Christ and this will make it impossible for a person to trully know and worship their creator and their God. False religion will be gone soon and only the path that God has created in Jesus will stand. If we are not already on that path we just might miss out.

I agree there is One Creator God. The Jews referred to Him as Yahweh, the Christians Heavenly Father and Muslims Allah.

I agree Jesus was His Spokesperson but also Moses and Muhammad. I believe we need to recognise all the Messengers of God, not just Jesus. So the Messengers of Christ, particularly Muhammad, the Bab and Bahá’u’lláh the Baha’is recognise but the Christians generally do not.

Some denominations of Christianity are closer to the truth than others.

thanks for taking the time to reply and i appreciate that the idea of there being only 1 true religion is hard to accept.
Yet what you are saying is that there is only one true religion and that is Christianity.
What I am saying is that everyone could come together and be part of one religion.
But if you think about it, all these different religions teach opposiing ideas about God. God cannot be everything that each religion says he is.
The reason that religions teach different things is because they were revealed in different ages and people were different in those ages so people needed to be taught differently about God in each age. Anther reason they are different is because man changes the religions over time, so they are no longer what was originally revealed by God.
Either he can or he cant, he will or he wont, he did or he didnt.... all opposing views cannot be accurate.
No they can't be completely accurate. What I believe is that the Revelation of Baha'u'llah is the most accurate because it is the most current. It explains the previous religions, renewing all the spiritual truths. It also brings a new message from God, a message that the world and its peoples need in this age.

I would just like to say that the king james version, written in old english, incorrectly uses the word 'worship'

Take note of Mattew 18:26 where the servant of the master is said to 'worship' him in the KJV bible. Do you really think the context is accurately reflecting a person worshiping someone they believe is a God?

Another example in Matt 2:2
Did the '3 wise men' come to 'worship' a human baby whom they thought would be the future king? No of course not. They knew he was a human baby, not a God.

So the KJV is not a great bible version when it comes to its translation of the scriptures. Back in the middle ages they were not as well educated on the ancient languages of the greek as they are now.
Jesus was not accepting 'worship' ... his disciples were doing the respectable thing of bowing to someone great. People still do this today. Its not worship.

Indeed, Jesus was saying to worship only the Lord your God, not to worship Him (Jesus).

So what? that does not mean Jesus is God.

That's right. "Worship is ONLY for God"! It is not for Jesus.
Jesus was sinless, He did not have to be God to be sinless.

Jesus claimed to reveal God, Whom He called Father, but Jesus differentiated Himself from God:

John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:

John 8:40 But now ye seek to slay me, a man that have spoken to you [the] truth, that I heard of God; Abraham did not this thing.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Jesus said that God was greater than He was:

Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, 'Away from me, Satan! For it is written: "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

So what if Jesus let them worship Him? Jesus never claimed to be God.

That's right, "Worship is only for God!" and that means it is not for Jesus.

The Jews knew that God was always God and there was only one God. God did not suddenly become the man Jesus.
I don't know if you even know how ridiculous the sounds.
.
Trailblazer I hope all is well...
Jesus told Satan "Worship is ONLY for God!" Jesus lets the people worship him; he never ever stops the worship or corrects it.. NEVER!
Jesus would be sinning if he accepted worship over God when he knows better! We know beyond all doubt; Jesus knows worship is ONLY for God because he told Satan it was ONLY for God!

Hello Trailblazer I hope all is well..
I reply.... Man has ALWAYS believed in a God or gods of some type.. From the cave man up to today! ALWAYS have!

The God of the Christian has lowered himself to become part of his own creation! The Christians God loves, he has compassion and mercy!
The Christian God is all powerful he can take any form he wishes to take... Example "Fire, Smoke, Burning bush, Dove, Man and yes even the form of Manna!"
God in in communion with us...I know God is part of me, I eat his living forever flesh!
I am Christian, I am justified in my faith; my belief is backed up by over One Billion other believers.. That is Billion with a "B"!

II the sense that God's attributes were perfectly expressed and reflected in Jesus, Jesus was God. However, I do not believe that God became flesh because the ineffable essence of God cannot ever be perfectly and completely contained in a single human body.
Moreover, the Bible says that God is spirit, and spirit cannot become flesh, although it can be manifested in the flesh, which is what I believed happened when Jesus walked the Earth.

I believe that Jesus was a Manifestation of God, a Messenger of God, a Servant of God and the Voice of God.
The following passage explains what I believe a Manifestation of God is, according to my beliefs.

“Were any of the all-embracing Manifestations of God to declare: “I am God,” He, verily, speaketh the truth, and no doubt attacheth thereto. For it hath been repeatedly demonstrated that through their Revelation, their attributes and names, the Revelation of God, His names and His attributes, are made manifest in the world....... And were any of them to voice the utterance, “I am the Messenger of God,” He, also, speaketh the truth, the indubitable truth ..........For they are all but one person, one soul, one spirit, one being, one revelation. They are all the manifestation of the “Beginning” and the “End,” the “First” and the “Last,” the “Seen” and the “Hidden”—all of which pertain to Him Who is the Innermost Spirit of Spirits and Eternal Essence of Essences. And were they to say, “We are the Servants of God,” this also is a manifest and indisputable fact. For they have been made manifest in the uttermost state of servitude, a servitude the like of which no man can possibly attain. Thus in moments in which these Essences of Being were deep immersed beneath the oceans of ancient and everlasting holiness, or when they soared to the loftiest summits of Divine mysteries, they claimed their utterances to be the Voice of Divinity, the Call of God Himself.” Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, pp. 54-55

I believe there is no evidence for union with divinity.

Absence of evidence does not prove it’s not possible either. There’s also no evidence there’s a God to begin with. So... why the constant need to belittle others’ beliefs with your own “I believes”, which I believe are veiled attempts at said belittling when you yourself cannot provide support? There is a pattern here.

The inclusive interpretation:

If someone has found God - by any path - Christ must have been involved even if it's not apparent how.

That’s virtually Bhagavad Gita 4.11 spoken by Krishna, at least several centuries, if not a millennium before Christ... “In whatever way people surrender unto me, I reciprocate with them accordingly. Everyone follows my path, knowingly or unknowingly...”

Trailblazer Are you Spirit and Flesh!? Are you just flesh? Do you have a soul?
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made
.
&
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,

The Father is Spirit!
The Son is in the form of MAN. Jesus (the Word) became flesh so he could correct the errors of the first perfect man Adam!
Adam brought sin and death into God' PERFECT creation!
Jesus the second perfect man died sinless; so death could not hold him in the grave! The wages of sin is death!

Only God is PERFECT! Jesus is God because only God is perfect only God is sinless!

Trailblazer Are you Spirit and Flesh!? Are you just flesh? Do you have a soul?
I am a soul who lives in a physical body until I die, at which time I will be a soul who lives in a spiritual body.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made
.
&
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
Verses 1-3 are about God, not about Jesus. All things were made through God since God created the heavens and the earth.

The Word refers to the divine perfections that appeared in Jesus Christ, and these perfections were with God. The Word does not mean the body of Jesus but rather the divine perfections manifested in Jesus. Jesus was like a clear mirror and the divine perfections were visible and apparent in this mirror. Therefore, the Word was the divine appearance. This is the meaning of the verse which says: “The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

When God sent Jesus, God was “manifested” in the flesh and Jesus dwelt among us. God did not become flesh, but rather the divine perfections of God were manifested in Jesus who came in the flesh and revealed the Word of God to humanity.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Jesus was the Perfect Man. Jesus was sinless and He did not have to BE GOD in order to be sinless.

How Adam brought sin into the world and how Christ saved us from that sin is explained below:

Question.—In verse 22 of chapter 15 of 1 Corinthians it is written: “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” What is the meaning of these words?

Answer.—Know that there are two natures in man: the physical nature and the spiritual nature. The physical nature is inherited from Adam, and the spiritual nature is inherited from the Reality of the Word of God, which is the spirituality of Christ. The physical nature is born of Adam, but the spiritual nature is born from the bounty of the Holy Spirit. The first is the source of all imperfection; the second is the source of all perfection.

The Christ sacrificed Himself so that men might be freed from the imperfections of the physical nature and might become possessed of the virtues of the spiritual nature. This spiritual nature, which came into existence through the bounty of the Divine Reality, is the union of all perfections and appears through the breath of the Holy Spirit. It is the divine perfections; it is light, spirituality, guidance, exaltation, high aspiration, justice, love, grace, kindness to all, philanthropy, the essence of life. It is the reflection of the splendor of the Sun of Reality.

All sin comes from the demands of nature, and these demands, which arise from the physical qualities, are not sins with respect to the animals, while for man they are sin. The animal is the source of imperfections, such as anger, sensuality, jealousy, avarice, cruelty, pride: all these defects are found in animals but do not constitute sins. But in man they are sins.

Adam is the cause of man’s physical life; but the Reality of Christ—that is to say, the Word of God—is the cause of spiritual life. It is “a quickening spirit,” meaning that all the imperfections which come from the requirements of the physical life of man are transformed into human perfections by the teachings and education of that spirit. Therefore, Christ was a quickening spirit, and the cause of life in all mankind.

Adam was the cause of physical life, and as the physical world of man is the world of imperfections, and imperfections are the equivalent of death, Paul compared the physical imperfections to death.

But the mass of the Christians believe that, as Adam ate of the forbidden tree, He sinned in that He disobeyed, and that the disastrous consequences of this disobedience have been transmitted as a heritage and have remained among His descendants. Hence Adam became the cause of the death of humanity. This explanation is unreasonable and evidently wrong, for it means that all men, even the Prophets and the Messengers of God, without committing any sin or fault, but simply because they are the posterity of Adam, have become without reason guilty sinners, and until the day of the sacrifice of Christ were held captive in hell in painful torment.

This is far from the justice of God. If Adam was a sinner, what is the sin of Abraham? What is the fault of Isaac, or of Joseph? Of what is Moses guilty?

Trailblazer thankyou for your post...
Only God is perfect; Only God can be sinless! Jesus was sinless because he was God.. Made Flesh!
God does all things perfectly... God made Adam PERFECT he made Adam sinless... IF..

Trailblazer
if Adam was not created sinless then you could accuse God of not being perfect! Adam freely.. With free choice decided to sin! Adams decision to sin is how death entered into God' perfect creation! The wages of sin is death! NO ONE....
Trailblazer
no one could be born prefect because all men were born corrupted by Adam' sin; Adam corrupted God' perfection! Man needed another perfect man born to pay for the sin of the first perfect man. We were stuck between a rock and a hard spot! God came to our rescue; God became part of his own creation! Jesus came as a man so he could die as a man! CAN'T...

Trailblazer can't die as a man if first your are not born as a man! Jesus died sinless he popped up out of the grave as a cork might rise up in a pool of water... The wages of sin is death, Jesus was without sin so death could NOT hold him in the grave!

What we have to do now is get our sorry ssa' immersed into the risen, resurrected body of Jesus! NO ONE...

Trailblazer
no one can die twice, no one can die a second time! Jesus has been there and done that! You can't even kill a stinking no good for nut-in mangy dog twice; to each is allotted one death no more! Jesus rose from death never to die again.. IF..
Trailblazer
if you are baptized (immersed) into the holy risen body of Jesus then you also will never die, you will live for eternity with Jesus!
LOOK (below) ... 3000 were ADDED to the body of Jesus the first day of Pentecost.
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Baptism ADDS you to the Risen Body of Jesus... Communion KEEPS you in the body!
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.

John 15:1I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Some denominations of Christianity are closer to the truth than others.

a lot of these later so called prophets contradict the teachings of Christ. Listening to such ones will not lead a person to the truth. If the truth is not known then how can a person know if they are really on the right path?

God is not a God of chaos...he does everything orderly. He does not contradict himself im sure you'd agree. So if the teaching of one prophet contradicts the teachings of another we should not assume that they are doing God bidding. God does not contradict himself.
