New digital platform created to protect conservatives from cancel culture.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
It's a bit like a dir on RF. A self contained platform media away from mainstream censorship and barring of individuals with particular views and opinions.

Trump, GOP candidates embrace new digital platform to protect from 'cancel culture'

Thus is with Conservatives/Republicans in mind, yet I can't help but think it can expand into other territories that are subject to cancel culture and trends that advocated censorship and barring people with different views and perspectives.

It kind of reminds me of individuals beside ex president Trump who have been barred or censored like the late Imus or Howard Stern who consequently went over to satellite TV because of their controversial behaviors.

The question I have is do you think this will lead to a proliferation of future exclusive digital platforms of this type?

I mean that's what the Nazi did when their platform was 'cancelled' (read: they broke terms of service and were removed explicitly for their behavior, which is the same thing Trump did)

After nodding in the direction of a long list of right wing cancel culture activities, my overall opinion is that impenetrable silos that people put themselves in is a mistake and leads to more and more problems over time.

Do you think people like Trump among others who are viewed unfavorably be excised from all mainstream media?

Not really, seeing as "cancel culture" is largely a myth of the far right. But no doubt some of the nutters will like the idea. I would expect the intelligence agencies will need to take a close look at such services, as they will attract extremists. With beards.

My concern is the creation of insulated media cells.

I do feel there is an implicit bias out there that heavily favours the left isle of thinkers.

Funny isn't it, how Trump creates his own platform so he can do the very thing he whines so much about has been done to him.

A platform where literally anything goes, so long as Trump approves....

No, I think people shouldn't play the victim when they break established platform's rules and are removed for it. Because I can tell you that every Christian, Atheist, Leftist, Rightist banned from this site believes they're being censored and the problem is with the monolithic mods, not their own actions.

I'm happy the internet is still open enough for Trump to utilize. That said, I think there should be great concern over forcing people to create insulated platforms.

If they can do it to an ex president they'll do it to you. Its only a matter of time. Even so, they probably did us all a favor when they cut off the ex president.

I was banned from Twitter with no notice, a bogus reason. With the promise that they'd reconsider they fished for my phone number and still did not reconsider.

I think the right is being filled up with more and more whackadoodles who think that a site being taken down for hosting literal plans for insurrection against the state is called 'cancel culture.'

He is not being "forced" to create his own platform.
He is being forced to suffer the consequences of not following the very rules he flat out agreed to follow when he created his accounts.
He is being forced to pay the consequences of his ignoring the warnings he received that he broke the rules.

Hells bells, if anyone else had gone on as he had, they would of been banned long before it got to the point where they finally banned him for flat out breaking the rules he agreed to when he created his account.

had he followed said rules, he would not have gotten banned.

So now he is making his own platform where he makes the rules.
Seeing as that is likely the only way he will be able to spout his blatant lies and other bull **** freely, it is most likely the best option for him and his zealots.

Will centre and left wing views be allowed on this platform or will they be "cancelled"?

Well....
Seeing as the only reason Trump did not block anyone on his President Twitter account is because the Supreme Court ruled that he couldn't....
man was he not happy that he had to allow truth and facts to be presented on that account....

I can not help but wonder if the people he tried to ban didn't rub it in his face....
