Secretary of State Pompeo: "There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump Administration"

Things could definitely still get interesting, especially since Rudy Giuliani stated that "shocking" affidavits will be published today.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I just realized. This is a new type of reality show right?

One that keeps people guessing but are never sure, is this reality or is this an episode written by the creators of Game of Thrones?

Brilliant!

I have a strong feeling he's just repeated something Donald came up with, as a sort of half-kidden, yet half-serious "joke". But with the Liar in Chief, you can count that he actually believes he can pull of a treasonous coop. He after all, in his mind, can't lose. They are, at this point, humoring his fragile ego, but it is treasonous for them to be suggesting they will ignore what every state official has declared already, that where was no frauds in their states. These are facts.

Good lord! :seenoevil:
Still sure you’re on the right side of things @KenS ...? For there are many shapes and forms to a populist dictator...
Because he claims to be a Christian, that's apparently all that matters. As long as that greedy brand of evangelicals get what they want, it doesn't matter if he is Satan himself. The ends justify the means, including selling America to a fascist dictator.

It never was a democracy in the first place.

To a degree it is a democracy in that local decisions are made by elected representatives, national decisions are by those elected representatives, i.e. a representative democracy

Edit

And i am pretty sure you just had a democratic election...

The government we have is a representative republic. Democratic elections are more applicable on a local and state level, but not on a federal level as we don't actually elect the president ourselves. At best, we provide an indicator as to whom our electors should choose when they cast their vote, for which their vote counts and not ours.

Selflessly here for you
I don't understand... what did he say that was dictator like?

Oh dear...

“...to a second Trump administration.” ?
You truly don’t see what’s dictator-like about saying that, when the country just voted that precise administration out...?

You may somehow still not feel that you are wrong about Trump but I, my friend, am slowly realising that I have been quite wrong about you.

I really do believe you’ve now allowed you fear to entirely blind you because: A despot, is a despot, is a despot - Sometimes the despot is an uneducated, ex bus-driver; other times, it’s a big cry-baby-millionaire.

Remember that for many conservatives, abortion is the only issue that matters. Most of them would rather have a "pro-life" dictator than a pro-choice elected president.

Democracy : a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

I believe that encompasses the US system

As an aside
In the UK, the PM is not elected by the "people", but by the elected representatives of those people.
