In order to analyze the effects of some forum-wide policies, I would like to poll members about their RF experience in the last 30 days. Specifically, I'm interested to know how members feel the RF experience and climate have been in the last 30 days compared to periods prior to that.

If possible, please clarify your vote so that there is as much information as possible for analysis of your vote. If you would prefer to PM me or post in Site Feedback instead of elaborating on your vote in this thread, feel free to do so.

Also, please avoid discussion of moderation and direct any questions or suggestions to the Site Feedback forum.

Thank you.

In the past 12 months, I have seen a few threads that didn't quite promote bodily harm, but were getting into a very bad gray area.

In the past 30 days, I have not seen such threads.

I'm not sure what forum-wide policies you are referring to outside of trying to be careful that posts about the pandemic are fact-based or at least clearly opinion.

The usual suspects I interact with have remained usual suspects. We've not abandoned our politics or beliefs or lack thereof.

I said it is the same. The only difference I see is that there seem to be fewer active threads in the General Religious Debates. In other words, there seem to be less people posting, but that could be owing to the pandemic

To me, it has been a more negative experience to come here in the last month or so, and it's because of OP/person that has frustrated me, so my answer to the problem is stopping to discuss any OP that annoys me.

I voted the same.

If they can be summarised briefly perhaps you could tell us what the new forum wide policies are?

One of them is indeed the ban on misinformation about COVID-19. Other things involve technicalities in moderation that would either be not worthwhile to mention here or confidential.

Big change in my experience. The harder Corona is hitting us, the more I can put threads and replies in perspective, and my responses get milder. I got the same feeling reading replies of others

According to the statistics in the admin CP, there hasn't been any significant change from the last few years in the number of active users around this time of year. Perhaps the religious debates are merely less of a focus at the moment due to the threads about the pandemic, but this is just a guess on my part.

Results are so mixed that I could check all 3 boxes.
So my checking any one of them wouldn't be meaningful.

I have seen more than one politically jaded Covid-19 "discussion" that was in incredibly poor taste as people are getting sick and dying from the SARS-CoV-2 disease.

The harder Corona is hitting us, the more I can put God and religion in perspective -- people matter most.

@Debater Slayer or any other mod:

Any update on the "Postings" profile glitch getting fixed?

Not yet, Left Coast. We are trying to reach the owners to inform them about this issue. The volunteer admins can't do much else because we don't have the technical permissions necessary to troubleshoot and fix it.

I share this sentiment. I'm much less inclined to harbor negativity while posting because of how insignificant online disagreements seem in comparison to what is going on around all of us right now. We're in the same boat in this one.

Understandable to be bothered about that. Stay safe, Wu Wei. Hopefully this passes soon enough and we don't have to hear or read tasteless virus-related rhetoric anywhere for much longer.

I'm not sure why I bother to come. I took a year out and found the site had gone down-hill. Endless posts about USian politics, and the religious discussions are dominated by atheists and Christians.
