What is inherently wrong with...

I don't see a problem with doing things for the sake of our feelings. Regulating one's emotions is crucial to good behaviour and adult maturity.

Most people don't but that doesn't change what is inherently right or wrong with something.

I don't believe right or wrong are inherent. I believe they are contextual and relative.

Perhaps things are NOT what they "appear" to be ?
And most times people can't see the forest for the trees .
Things are never what they appear to be.
If you want to see a forest properly, fly over the trees in a helicopter. If you want to see a tree and the forest is in the way, you're gonna have to walk up to one.

....religious rituals?

Can you explain the logic behind the answer?

I see a danger of the ritual is that it can become what is worshipped. The focus of worship becomes the ritual, which then distracts us from what was the original pupose and thus blinds us to the true purpose.

No, flying over the trees just gives you a view of many trees;
you still cannot "see" the forest.

Everyone has psychosis then?

No, not everyone..... there are very few in this world that does not.
I would estimate 1 in a million, and that's probably too generous.

It goes with the territory, when the "god of this world" ,
the one that created it all, is the "Head" of the "body".
