There will always be some extremists in all directions. There are no movements worth my worrying about in this country at this time.

The OP is in a politics forum. It includes a link to a news article and a comment about the event. Have you ever made that type of post?
He makes threads and posts like this all the time. It's only "trolling" when it comes from the other side.

But how often do I hear "Nazis are socialist, it says so right in their name!", and "Democrats are socialist!".

But then the Nazis gravitate to the Republican party and other Christian conservative groups.

What's with that?
Tom
It's kind of like how they point back to the dems being the party of slavery and the confederacy, yet how many like @Good-Ole-Rebel vote for them today?

Disagreed.

Nazism was designed only for a specific time and place (Germany in the immediate aftermath of WW1) and its components incorporated fascist totalitarianism with strong socialist elements.

That's what makes the concept of "neo-Nazism" so ridiculous.

It's also why comparing any current political figure / ideology / political party to Hitler or the Nazis is just hysterical nonsense and should be ignored. The people who espouse those ideas are historically ignorant.

True Nazism died in 1945 and will never be resurrected.

Hence the "neo," meaning "new."

These are folks using the name attempting to revive the ideologies behind the original Nazi movement.

Which is retarded because it only had a place in devastated 1920s-1940s Germany.

National Socialism will never have an appropriate residence ever again.
Nonetheless, there are still people who believe in National Socialism, which I would say most "neo-Nazis" actually don't. Most neo-Nazis are basically just racists who enjoy the aesthetics of the Third Reich (just as many non-racists do), but don't really care too much about ideology. Still, there are people who do.

Would you like to the wager your mortal soul as to the count of the posts by the left versus the posts made by the right and see who made the most? ;0)

Don't you find it strange how when a Nazi sympathizer or white supremacist decides to align themselves with a mainstream American political party, it's always the Republicans (or the Libertarians, though I wouldn't consider them "mainstream"), never the Democrats?
Now it's a Democrat.
Meh....I don't fault Bernie for who might like him.
The wise voter will recognize that it's not significant if a Nazi
supports this or that candidate or party. What matters is the
party's agendas & actions.

19th century Southern Democratic party.
It extended halfway into the 20th century.
But what matters are the party's agendas & actions today.
They've mostly given up enslaving people (not all the way
there on the military draft though.)

Fair enough.

Naziism is about as socialist as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is democratic.

No, they're exactly the same thing.

While most socialists wouldn't prefer the economy to be lorded over by a military dictatorship the way the resources were managed was identical. After the wars all of them came back as "National Democratic Parties" or "National Socialist Parties" and their ideas rubbed off on the "Socialists" who idolized these people. Modern politicians didn't like the "nationalism" moniker due to associations with the terrible memories of WW2 and simply re-framed it into "economic" socialism.

So, it's more of a you say tomato I say tomatoe situation rather than a real difference. There are variances in the way the implementation was done at the government level, but if you think it's any different you need some more tape on your egg.

Anytime the government takes over it sucks and it doesn't really matter which term you use for your socialists.
