Is this an affectation - not using capital letters to start a sentence (and missing punctuation) - or is it a conscious revolt against the WEIRD domination of the English language?
I noticed that, and I thought it was probably just easier.... It takes longer to add the capitals. :D
Me, I am such a grammar freak, I could not do it.... I even correct the spelling in posts I am responding to if I see errors.

And some people just dont like reality
To be fair, neither atheists or believers can prove that there is no God or that there is a God, so nobody can prove what reality is.... so it is just a matter of personal opinion or belief.

I would not say that the "reason" atheists do not believe in God is because they do not like the idea that God is greater than they are, because they cannot like the idea that something they do not believe exists is greater than they are. so I would say that is just a personal opinion some people have. Most believers do not have a clue how atheists think or why they think that way, and some believers label atheists out of hand, but since I have been posting almost exclusively to atheists for over six years, I think I know more than most believers. The primary reason atheists do not believe in God is because there is no evidence that God exists, period. I might disagree with that but I still respect it since we all do not look at evidence the same way. :)

There are some atheists who do not want to believe in God because God would be greater than they are if God existed, but I do not put you in that category, because I know you. People should get to know people before they form such opinions, Imo. There was an atheist on another forum who said that even if God did exist she would not want to believe in God, and the reason is because she did not like the idea of having to do what God would expect of her because it would interfere with the way she lived her life. I knew that woman well. She hated me because of my firm belief in God and Baha'u'llah, and she tormented me on that forum until the atheist forum owner banned her from that forum because she was telling him that he did not know how to run his own forum, mainly because she thought he should have kicked me off.

I do not use a tablet, I use a laptop, and if I write long posts I usually write them in Word, so it catches any errors.
I do not judge other people for their errors, but I judge myself harshly. My husband can hear me on the other side of the house yelling to myself "you cannot do anything right!" but he does not pay any attention to me because he knows why I am yelling.

When it comes to spelling and grammar I am a perfectionist maybe because my dad was an English professor, but when it comes to my personal appearance or housecleaning I am not a perfectionist at all. Life is too short to worry about things like that, people are much more important to me.

We were discussing rocks but if you want to...

Its not a point of liking or not liking, i think i have explained this to you before, its a point of evidence or lack of evidence.

But feel free to build your own story to rationalise atheism with your own ideas.

Yeah, i have a husband who doesn't pay any attention (only joking) he actually has a hearing defect that means he has a problem with higher frequencies, unfortunately my voice is in the frequency range he has problems with... That's his excuse anyway

I like to be elegant in personal appearance and for housekeeping i will admit to just a touch of OCD. 20 years in business effects how you dress. While in business i did no housework so in retirement i im making up for that.

I can show you (and i have) evidences that aspects of claims made for gods are nonsensical and/or impossible. Together the various evidences are synergistic, the various parts proving or in this case disproving the whole.

Of course god believers poopoo these evidences, deny them or make excuses for them but do not address them directly

Thing is, a universal negative cannot be proven so nobody can prove that God does not exist...
Likewise, nobody can prove that God exists because God is good at hiding. ;)

So I say, atheists and believers should just agree to disagree and try to get along. :)

Uh.... that's what I said.

There is no need to rationalize atheism. It is a logical alternative to belief.

Evidence/lack of... Is not personal belief

You appear to be discussing atheism as a belief system when in real life its a disbelief system. It is an error most god believers make because they cannot actually think in terms of disbelief in gods

My husband also has hearing problems so maybe he does not hear me, I don't know. ;)

I never worked in business, I always worked for the government, and in my line of work I do not have any direct contact with the public, so I do not have to dress up. Lots of ladies like to dress up, but as I see it I am too old to try to keep looking young and pretty. Besides, I do not have time to spend on personal appearance. Besides that, I ride my bike to work, and it is too much trouble to change into nice outfits when I get to work.

Hopefully I will do more housework after I retire. I actually cleaned off some of the clutter on the dining room table during my two week vacation so hopefully that's a sign of things to come. ;)

Evidence is not negative. It can be ignored or twisted but that does not make the evidence negative

A tactic that often works until one or the other asks an embarrassing question

No, not at all. When I said a matter of opinion or belief I meant opinion of atheists and belief of believers.

I never said that evidence is negative. I said one cannot prove a universal negative.

Greetings chris.
Welcome to RF
Tom

why are their rainbow colors in the banner of this forum?
Same reason all the people have white skin, I presume.
It wasn't always like that. The old RF logo had multi hued people.
Somebody "updated" the look a little while back.

i started to get in the habit of only capitalizing the word "God". i don't capitalize "I' because it seems egomaniacal to do so
Seems a bit more egocentric to change language norms to suit yourself. But, oh well.
By RF standards, it's no big deal. There're way stranger things accepted here, without a backwards glance.

ETA ~It took a bit to convince the autocorrect on my phone that I really did mean to spell chris with a small c. But you are important enough for me to do it~

No, not at all. When I said a matter of opinion or belief I meant opinion of atheists and belief of believers.

Evidence or lack of is not an opinion,it is a hard fact that can only be falsified one way. I will wait for the falsification.
