500K people is preaching to the choir.

How is that so. Many of those people, especially the thousands of students who participated in it were never active in the domain. For them, the problem was purely theoretical in the sense that they knew it existed, but never took any action against it nor had any interested in exactly what the problem was. That's not preaching to a choir. Preaching to a choir would be her making speaches in environmental conferences and in academic circles.

The UN is a major advocate already. Preaching to the choir.

No, the not all members of the UN are supporting measures against climate change and those that do don't always furnish the effort they promised they did. Her speach at the UN specifically adressed both, repeating and shaming countries who either denied the problem or tried to avoid taking difficult actions. These aren't the choir. They are the exact opposite of the choir and in the wake of that speech many countries, including mine, did promised more efforts (we are left to see if those promises will be held). She didn't make a speech to the organs of the UN that fight it or moniter it, but to the general assembly.

Repeating what experts have already said isn't impressive.

Being a good messenger is very difficult. The proof is you are totally incapable of doing it for the things that are of the most importance to you. You simply don't have the dedication, the charisma and the savyness to do it. Repeating what experts say about a complicated subject to millions and simply gaining the attention of so many people is extremely difficult. It's also essential. Preaching to the choir is aso important and essential to keep people motivated in continuing their efforts. It also involve raising awareness since awareness fluctuate. Sometime we are queenly aware of things and sometimes they are at the back of our mind. Having someone constantly hammering an important message helps keep it at the fore of our consciousness, thus it raises awareness.

He also said she has an "anger management problem".

Probably due to her UN speech. Besides she acknowledge her issue.

....

"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!"

That's a personal attack.

No it isn't.

When I said the President of the United States should be far too busy to engage in such childish personal attacks, you said "Wrong." Speaks for itself.

Busy doing what? You are assuming there was something for him to do without evidence.

Active is different from aware.

No, the not all members of the UN are supporting measures against climate change and those that do don't always furnish the effort they promised they did.

So? The UN is still the major advocate. It has a whole department for the issue

Her speach at the UN specifically adressed both, repeating and shaming countries who either denied the problem or tried to avoid taking difficult actions. These aren't the choir.

That is still mostly the choir regarding CC. Disagreement on the solutions is different.

They are the exact opposite of the choir

Nope

and in the wake of that speech many countries, including mine, did promised more efforts (we are left to see if those promises will be held). She didn't make a speech to the organs of the UN that fight it or moniter it, but to the general assembly.

Not really. Trump does it daily. Just not experts on this issue.

It's also essential. Preaching to the choir is aso important and essential to keep people motivated in continuing their efforts.

People need to find their own motivation and not rely upon others providing it for them

It also involve raising awareness since awareness fluctuate.

That is about priority not awareness

Sometime we are queenly aware of things and sometimes they are at the back of our mind.

That is not the type of awareness being discussed.

Having someone constantly hammering an important message helps keep it at the fore of our consciousness, thus it raises awareness.

No that is called focus.

So why does the OP title describe this as "bullying autistic teen"?

I think Trump is a dick, and in major denial about climate change.
But the descriptions of Greta keep flip flopping from "delicate young girl" to "precociously smart and self possessed public figure". I call that hypocrisy.
Tom

I only ever described her as an autistic child who is raising awareness about global warming. A d that pi**es trump off

It is framing. When she is criticized she becomes "autistic teen". When she is saying something a person likes she becomes "smart and dedicated". It is a way to shut down criticism regardless of the content of the criticism. Hence why the OP isn't "Trump criticized public figure" as that isn't the point. The point is to create outrage by focusing on who she is instead of what she is saying and doing.

Methinks her doctors have more authority on her condition than you do

So,
do you think that she's an autistic child that needs protection?

If so, what does any other public figure(including Trump) have to do with the issue at hand? Which is not climate change, it's Trump bullying autistic teen.

I agree with Greta about climate change. And I think that Trump is a denialist dufus, who should never have given Greta that much cred. But he did. Done is done. Her parents picked this, not Greta or Trump.
They both have to live with the consequences, but her parents apparently don't.
Well, except for all the money they made pimping out their teenage daughter.

She is an autistic child, she needs consideration.

Jeez, Trump was the one dishing out the personal abuse, not the parents.

When did her doctors get involved?
Did they say that she's competent to take on people like the President of the USA?
Tom

When she was diagnosed with autism.

She obviously is competent to voice her opinion on climate change and it obviously gets right up trumps nose that an autistic teenager can have an opinion...

The leftwing leader of the UK’s Official Opposition pulled a similar stunt as Greta and he was also found out.

Greta Thunberg lied about sitting on train floor & 'actually sat in FIRST CLASS'

"It would have been even nicer if you had also reported how friendly and competently our team served you at your seat in first class"

Train company Deutsche Bahn

A report by someone who was there

NoCookies | The Australian
Thunberg’s version of events has been supported by Swedish journalist Alexandra Urisman Otto, who said “we both sat on the floor in two trains … she sat on a regular seat from Göttingen, me and my colleague from Hannover”.

She is an autistic child, she needs consideration.
Which is why I keep asking, "Where were her parents? She's a child, an autistic child! Why didn't her parents take this into consideration?".

Jeez, Trump was the one dishing out the personal abuse, not the parents.
Sorry, no.
Trump didn't dish out any personal abuse. Her parents put her in line for the dismissive tweet. And they knew that they were doing it when they chose it for their delicate child.

She isn't competent if getting a tweet from a global opponent constitutes abuse!

I think she is competent. And this whole thing about being bullied is the trash. She isn't being bullied, she invited Trump to respond. And he did.
Now the stalwart SJW is squealing about being bullied, because that will make more money and get her more yachting.

Well they would have more people on on board if more convincing arguments were to manifest.
You're joking!

If you haven't already become aware of rising record breaking temperatures, more volatile weather systems, shrinking ice caps, reducing oxygen contents in seas, so many raging wild fires, and so much more, then you weren't listening, and not interested. Amazing.

Take what into consideration? That trump would launch an abusive personal attack against their daughter?

Yes he did dish out personal attacks, more than once

Pointing out her failure is pathetic? Yawn. You have no point. You just got offended by what I pointed out. Try again
Me? Try what?
Try to discuss the value of Greta's message with you?
You're joking!

I never said anything about her condition. More so you are asserting a link without evidence this is a case with her.
Since when did you ever take notice of links which you don't fancy? :p

She says nothing new nor of substance I have not heard/read for years.
If you know all about what is happening to the World's ecology at this time you'd be one amazing scientist, and somehow I don't think you are.

Say what, some one attacks you, an adult (supposedly) and its not competent to consider that abuse?

I am not bothered about about money, i am bothered that an adult t thinks its cool to attack an autistic teen my mocking the symptoms of that disorder

The title was wrong......

I think Trump is a dick, and in major denial about climate change.
Excellent judgement! :D

It's possible to be smart and at the same time delicate and young. I don't know what 'self-possessed' means, really. I find such terms to be word salad. :p
