Will the Republican Party Die in 2020?

Will the Republican Party die in 2020? Of course, there will always be a Republican Party in a technical sense. I mean is 2020 the year the Republicans become America's permanent minority party, incapable -- or nearly incapable -- of winning the House, the Senate, or the Presidency?

The famous Democratic pollster, Stanley Greenberg, believes he has amassed evidence showing that 2020 will be another Blue Wave year. He thinks the Democrats will take the House, the Senate, and the Presidency in a landslide.

Now, of course, Trumpettes are saying just the opposite. They are saying Trump will win and the Republicans will keep the Senate and regain the House.

But on what grounds are they saying such things?

Trumpettes are by and large contemptuous of the sciences and instead much more often than not base their beliefs on their gut feelings, their emotions, and their "vast personal experience" -- and they are downright proud of their disdain for polling and other scientific measures.

Scientific evidence versus gut feelings. I guess 2020 will show which are better predictors of the truth.

Maybe or maybe later. The demographics indicate a leftward shift from the young.

Well, if that happens, another party might take its place. Maybe they'll bring back the Whigs.

Will it die in 2020? No. We will still have a two party system.

One comment.

I do not accept as objective or scientific the conclusions or 'research' of anybody that contemptuous of one of the 'research subjects,' and so obviously working on confirmation bias.

Especially when the contempt is expressed so strongly in negative generalizations and name calling.

That's not me dismissing 'scientific evidence.' That's me dismissing bad science and worse logic.

I still want to see the spaceships filled with dinosaurs wearing red capes that Tom Hanks predicted if Trump won.

I'm still waiting for all these snowflakes to leave the U.S. like they promised when Trump won the first time. Maybe a victory lap 2nd term will finish em off?!?! We can hope?!?!

No. 2016 should've proved that the polls and predictions of the elites are worthless. The world is even more fractured than then.

Do you consider yourself reasonably well informed about he precise reason the polls did not predict Trump's 2016 victory? Just curious about your self-perception of how well informed you are regarding the polling prior to the 2016 election. I do not plan on debating it with you.

I'm as well-informed as anyone else eligable to cast a vote. Take that as you will.

There's two answers to the continuous insults and lies of the right. This is one of them.

It's more likely that the dems will split. They are already two parties under one name. The conservative, corporate dems (Biden, Harris) and the progressives (Sanders).
