Exterminating god

If god exists and is as wicked as indicated in the Bible, humans should be looking at ways of exterminating it. Any ideas as to how it could be done?

By stopping giving any damns if you're an atheist who wants to exterminate what you see as a fictional character, and go do something useful with your life instead of wasting your time ranting about a made up being?

If you read my post, I said IF god EXISTS!

So not only do you propose a scenario you find fictional to begin with but you also ask about what to do in another scenario that would follow from the first one.

I wish I had so much free time on my hands.

Religion. A pox on all their Houses.
Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market place, and cried incessantly: "I seek God! I seek God!" -- As many of those who did not believe in God were standing around just then, he provoked much laughter. Has he got lost? asked one. Did he lose his way like a child? asked another. Or is he hiding? Is he afraid of us? Has he gone on a voyage? emigrated? -- Thus they yelled and laughed.

The madman jumped into their midst and pierced them with his eyes. "Whither is God?" he cried; "I will tell you. We have killed him -- you and I. All of us are his murderers. But how did we do this? How could we drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What were we doing when we unchained this earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving? Away from all suns? Are we not plunging continually? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions? Is there still any up or down? Are we not straying, as through an infinite nothing? Do we not feel the breath of empty space? Has it not become colder? Is not night continually closing in on us? Do we not need to light lanterns in the morning? Do we hear nothing as yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying God? Do we smell nothing as yet of the divine decomposition? Gods, too, decompose. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him.

"How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed; and whoever is born after us -- for the sake of this deed he will belong to a higher history than all history hitherto."

Here the madman fell silent and looked again at his listeners; and they, too, were silent and stared at him in astonishment. At last he threw his lantern on the ground, and it broke into pieces and went out. "I have come too early," he said then; "my time is not yet. This tremendous event is still on its way, still wandering; it has not yet reached the ears of men. Lightning and thunder require time; the light of the stars requires time; deeds, though done, still require time to be seen and heard. This deed is still more distant from them than most distant stars -- and yet they have done it themselves.

It has been related further that on the same day the madman forced his way into several churches and there struck up his requiem aeternam deo. Led out and called to account, he is said always to have replied nothing but: "What after all are these churches now if they are not the tombs and sepulchers of God?"

There's a famous passage from “The Grand Inquisitor” section of Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov in which Ivan Karamazov claims that if God does not exist, then everything is permitted. If there is no God,then there are no rules to live by, no moral law we must follow; we can do whatever we want.Nov 18, 2013

The extermination of God is a fearful deed and i think that Nietzsche and Dostoevsky
get it exactly right.

Famous or otherwise, Doestoevsky’s claim listed here is nonsense.
If God does not exist it is still immoral to do many things.
Morality would still exist independently of God

Just because you as a human being see God as evil, does not make God evil ;)
And you would not be able to destroy God, because He/She/It would know what you think even before you realize it you self.
And since Gods or Buddhas are non physical beings, how would you "kill" them?

Hi
I've heard Dostoevsky called many things but nonsense is not one of them. He was pretty spot on in suggesting that the atheistic ideologies of his day would lead to totalitarian bloodshed unmatched in human history. The whole 20th century pretty much bore that out.

I've watched sam harris try and explain that Morality exists without God but he has never quite made the grade. There are series of debates between harris and jordan peterson on utube going over whether we need the Architypal religious stories or not ,they are not so glib as to dismiss Nietsche and dostoevsky as nonsense.
Peace.

You could start by living in your car as at least one of the gods of the bible, YHVH, had problems with "chariots of iron".

The deeds attributed to god are evil in the extreme.

Why? and how?

You dont belive in a God, how can you say it is evil then?
You do know the bible is written from Man`s hand, but info from God is there yes. But some of it is description from mankind at that time

Since the God of Abraham has had little to no impact on my life since childhood, I see no reason why I should take any interest in participating in your contemptuous crusade. *shrugs*

I'm sorry for you that the God of Abraham is still harassing you to the point where you feel you need to join a religious community with the apparent sole purpose of spewing venom about Him. I hope that one day you can shed your hatred and move on. :)

Have you read the Bible? Everything that is attributed to it is bad.

He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

~

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:

though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool."

~

Wash and make yourselves clean.

Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong.
Learn to do right; seek justice.

Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.

~

Yes, always use honest weights and measures,
so that you may enjoy a long life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

~

Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners,
because you were foreigners in Egypt.

~

Do not permit any of your children to be offered as a sacrifice to Molech, for you must not bring shame on the name of your God. I am the LORD.

~

Each of you must show great respect for your mother and father, and you must always observe my Sabbath days of rest. I am the LORD your God.

~

When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God.

I could go on.

Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?

What is good about the Biblical god? Even Hitler who was badness, wasn't as wicked, imo. Having had my childhood spoilt by having the idea of god being forced upon me, I have a right to have my say.
