Unconditional free speech doesn't apply to advertising (unless you want companies to be free to say whatever they want about their products, regardless of whether it's true of not - "Guaranteed not to blow up in your face!"). Anyway, the Fire Brigade changing their mascot is an expression of their free speech which you apparently don't want them to be allowed to do.

The country is a shooting gallery. A trade war with China will damage the American and world economies. Trump has set a new record in deficit spending. Racism and hatred are rampant and escalating. Extreme weather seems to be impacting and devastating America much more harshly than the countries north ans south of it. Death from drug overdose is epidemic.

Well the word “f*gs” is still commonly used by literally all my British cousins to refer to smokes. Not the full word though.

So I guess one could be cheeky and purposefully mock the term for being about cigarette butts. Which I don’t mind. Knock the term down a peg.

Indeed it does, but it pays for the site to keep operating. Advertising agreements require certain filters, and that's an end of free speech on certain sites. We also allow kids 13 and up to create accounts, so there are some restrictions because of that. If the auto filter doesn't say anything than a word is fair game. You can say screw but not ****. Its just something we all have to accept for now.

Sometimes the autocensor does go a bit too far. I used to practice one of the four major schools of Japanese Karate. The style is ****oryu. Just because the first four letters are also a censored word it automatically gets stars when nothing like that was intended at all. If anything it will cause people to have the wrong idea.
