Saw that in yesterday's headlines, and the articles goes on to explain possibilities. There are several.
Note the aging of the star is made, in this case by its iron content. The assumption is the HD 140283 formed before metals formed. Nothing strange in that, all the first stars formed before metal formed. Lower atomic weight metals is a product of those stars dying. What i find fascinating is that the star still exists.
No flip flop about it.
