How Will You Cope When I'm Away?

Corporations tend to not admit their **** stinks, and often fight the fact it does. Marlboro and Winston long fought and denied that cigarettes are health hazards, even claiming they are good for ones health. Monsanto denied Round Up is a carcinogen up until the moment they were bought out by Bayer. Perdue is savage and brutal when it comes to how they treat chickens
Perdue Farms - Wikipedia
Perdue has been criticized for its factories' lack of adherence to some basic animal-welfare practices.[11][12][13] The guidelines that Perdue follows, created by the National Chicken Council, have drawn criticism for allowing birds to be deprived of light, food, and water for long periods, and also for permitting animals to be hung upside-down by their ankles before slaughter.[12][14] In 2010, the Humane Society of the United States filed a lawsuit against Perdue for violating a New Jersey consumer fraud law by applying the labels "purely all-natural" and "humanely raised" to its products when reasonable consumers would not consider the conditions Perdue chickens are raised in “humane.” [12][15] The Humane Society filed a similar lawsuit in Florida in April 2013 after an appeal by Perdue to have a similar case rejected was turned down by a federal court.[16] In response, Perdue issued a statement claiming that its practice “exceeds the National Chicken Council guidelines in several areas, including monitoring air quality in the poultry house, video monitoring of live-bird handling areas at the processing plant and USDA audits of producer farms and...hatcheries.”[17]

MFA claimed to have witnessed:

  • Birds kicked like footballs, thrown against walls, and violently stomped to death by callous workers
  • Chickens bred to grow so fast they became crippled under their own weight and died from heart attacks
  • Hundreds of thousands of birds crammed into filthy, windowless sheds forced to live for months in their own waste
  • Workers spinning birds around by their heads to break their necks
News soon came that poultry worker Danny Cajija Miranda, 22, was charged with four counts of animal cruelty.
Perdue Farmer Reveals How Bad Life Is For His 'Humanely Raised' Chickens
J. Craig Watts let a group called Compassion in World Farming film inside the North Carolina farm where he raises around 720,000 chickens for Perdue each year and has been supplying the poultry giant for nearly 22 years. What the video shows is disconcerting, from overcrowding in the chicken barns to the poor health of chickens.
....
Perdue's chickens are raised to grow unnaturally large and fast. Perdue chickens reach market weight after 42 days, according to Watts. Heritage breeds take anywhere from 80 to 112 days to mature, according to the ASPCA. This is par for the course for the whole industry, which has pushed to accelerate growth rates so chickens get fatter, faster. The high growth rate makes it difficult for chickens to breathe and walk. None can fly.
....
In addition to being crowded, the chicken barn is exceptionally dirty. It is filled with litter, feces, and urine. It is sometimes years before the floor is cleaned for a flock, says Watts. The dirty, overcrowded conditions at Watts' barns have left the chickens' bellies raw and red. Most of the chickens have a massive bedsore.
...
The "cage free" claim doesn't necessarily mean chickens roam freely, though. The cramped and overcrowded nature of the barn leaves the chickens with almost no room to move, which seems to contradict the assertion that the chickens are "humanely raised."
...
This past fall, Perdue and Kroger settled lawsuits filed by the Humane Society to remove "humanely raised" from their Harvestland and Simple Truth chicken brands.
...
Watts says Perdue has consistently ranked him as either an "above average" or "well above average" farmer.
...
According to Watts, the flock featured in the video won 2nd place at Perdue's breeding tournament, where farmers' flocks are graded by Perdue's management for adhering to the company's guidelines.

Do you eat chicken?

Wikipedia isn't credible. And your other two sources are older than the Perdue 2018 statement I linked.

Wiki has been verified to be just as credible as Britannica, and it links to it's sources.
And, yes, I eat chicken, but not if it comes from certain companies or contains things like growth hormones and antibiotics.

Where is that verification?

What companies chicken do you consume? Perdue stopped using antibiotics and GH years ago.

According to the USDA, it is illegal to sell poultry in the US that was raised with added hormones. So why are companies like Perdue plastering their packaged chicken with labels like “No Hormones or Steroids Added”? ... But the truth is that ALL chicken – regardless of the label – NEVER has any added hormones.Jul 31, 2017

Actually, the carcinogenic status of glyphosate remains in question and neither Monsanto nor Bayer has conceded that they think it is. The position they hold is that it is not. However, because of the controversy, and how for some, it represents the opposition between science and technology, and traditional values, it would not be surprising to see it phased out of use even if it were definitively established that it is not a carcinogen.

It's the bee isn't it? People love the bee. ;) :p
Sort of I suppose. I just never saw a post where a woman claimed that while hallucinating she considered turning herself into a honey-doused Lesbian treat.

Tonite I leave for a week long trip to Coolspring PA.
I won't be able to post much, if at all.
What I want to know....
What methods will you use to cope with my absence?
Will you seek out bacon or limericks...atheist blather...capitalist spirituals....early Simpsons episodes...janitorial supply catalogs....unpatriotic works of art....or a list of insults to use on @Wu Wei?

I will buy a haggis ....and gaze at it every evening :p

There are some aspects of modern industrial agriculture practices involving large volume, high efficiency poultry production that may impact animal welfare and human health. Many studies indicate that bacterial contamination under such crowded conditions is greatly increased over more traditional production methods. This could lead to contamination of food that hits the grocery store. Chickens raised for meat are bred predominantly for breast muscle development and it makes them unbalanced and poses high stress on their legs. They are often raised in standing room only crowded conditions. So, there are some issues. Perhaps more, I am not a animal ag expert.

I misinterpreted motives then when the recent payout lawsuit was announced.
