Hi there everyone

Just_Curious

Curious about religion
hi.
I’ve just joined.
From the uk. I really like learning about world religions.
I grew up with no religion. I had no idea what God was but last few years
I have wanted to find out. I still don’t know but read some of the Holy Bible and even though some of it goes completely over my head, some of it makes sense. but I’m also curious as to other religions and just generally enjoy learning about the different ways in which you all connect to the Divine.

Welcome to RF, great to have you here and it is a great place to get many ideas about Faith and God.

My views are as a Baha'i.

I had no Faith before I found the Baha'i Faith back in 1984 in Australia.

Regards Tony

No you don't, you live in monasia.

There are no cybermen in the UK.

I live in the Mondas version of the UK, silly Earth human. But now let's not go scaring away the newbie by telling her I'm actually a cyberman from Earth's twin planet.

Welcome, curious one! I hope you will find what you are looking for here. One thing for sure -- you'll get a lot of different opinions to consider!

Curious, what age did you first hear of God? And when did you first read the bible?

Welcom too by the way.

I was probly about 8 or 9 . but my father was a right skeptic. So it brushed off on me too. My dad used to laugh at my auntie Kath for believing in something that can’t be proved

I read some parts of the bible about 2 years ago. I still read it, but I can only read it slowly.

Thanks for the welcome

Welcome. there are a lot of people from the UK here...
I also grew up with no religion. Both my parents were fallen away Christians and my father was an atheist but I think my mother still believed in God although I do not remember her talking about God...
My dad died when I was 12 but not long after that me and all of my immediate family members became Baha'is.

Depends on how your dad defines proof.

Ive noticed alot of naturalists and skeptics brush off anectdotal experiences. They say those are not proof because THEY never had the experience. But if you or i had our own anectdote experiences, then we have direct proof....for ourselves.

To me, i have proof via my own experiences, but, i cant prove to a skeptic that im telling the truth of my experiences.

So, they dont take anecdotes seriously, but i do. Particularly VERIDICAL anectodes are the most interesting.

Welcome!

The Bible is big... like a house... you start with the foundation :)
