I still think that John was munching hallucinogenic mushrooms when he wrote that drivvle.

I have read that Revs nearly got excluded from the bible, which could have saved a lot of trouble........

Why do they always act like this one small group of people are above reproach? And we're not talking about all Jewish people, only a few groups who are, in one way or another, responsible for evil deeds.

Again, you are lying through your teeth as I have not done that in my entire life, so this is just another one of your truly pathetic made-up stories. Seems like you have no shame.

I didn't say anything about you! The Germans did horrible things. If I were German would that mean I did those things? Use your common sense.

It was more than just they as I know some historians believe that Hitler's "approval rating" probably was around 80% at its peak. The fact of the matter is that very few opposed them after a while, and they had a following here in the States.
It most likely more than 80%. Its crazy but understand he killed so many for no reason not even including his main targeted group. No one was safe.

I have no problems with the Lord saying it. I have problems with certain self righteous Christians repeating it, as if it's their job to judge israel. It's their job to love their neighbor as themselves, which means just as they wouldn't like me to characterize Christians in general as self righteous (whether or not its true), they shouldn't characterize Jews in general as stiff necked (whether or not it is true). I should really take the time to try to find the place where Paul tells Christians not to be arrogant and look down on the Jews. I just don't see why it should go that far. Rude insultiing behavior is obviously wrong.
I agree 100% about rude behavior being wrong. It's certainly not very loving. Of course not all Jews are stiff necked, as all Christians are not arrogant. I would say that the vast majority of both groups are simple, decent folks.

You may be thinking of Romans chapters 9 through 11. The sum essence is that without the Jews there would be no Christians. Only a fool would bite the hand that feeds them!

Have you ever talked to Christian about some of the things they are called or accused of? Gullible, simple, illiterate, stupid, are just a few of the less nasty things I'm regularly called. Most of what they say would be censored out here! I've been personally blamed for the Crusades and the many other atrocities that have been committed in the name of so-called Christianity. Nobody ever stops to consider that maybe the "Christians" that committed them were not really Christian at all. God tells Jew and Christian alike to love one another. He doesn't force either to do that, so if someone wants to start a war in the name of God, they are free to do so. But it is the individual who does so, not the whole faith. I know you understand.

In any case, I could care less what people call me, or accuse me of. It just puts me into some pretty good company. After all, didn't they accuse and ridicule practically every prophet that ever lived? Yes they did. I feel blessed when I'm ridiculed because I know it means I'm walking at least a little bit according to the scriptures.

Matt 5:44,

But I (Jesus) say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
I don't know if you believe the Gospels or not, but either way this is not bad advice. Instead of getting upset, pray for those who persecute you. Maybe that way at least that person may change their attitude one of these days, thereby making the world a little brighter. Take care...

It looks like Jesus had a difference of a opinion about his book of Revelation,
Seeing he had his book of Revelation added to the bible.

Oh, yeah? Turns out there's two sides to every story.

Synagogue Of Satan

Holocaust fantasists? How more and more people are making up memoirs about witnessing Nazi crimes

The six-million figure: another holocaust lie and the lying liars who enable it

Six Million Fairy Tale

And what you're undoubtedly also unaware of is that many members of Congress flew to Poland to see what these camps were like because they were told that the world would have a hard time believing what they were seeing. One of my neighbors when growing up was involved in the liberation of Dachau, and he said when he saw he piles of bodies he just broke down and cried.

I'm not denying the holocaust. I'm horrified at those images myself. But those people were not gassed. They died from starvation and disease just like the ones in British, Japanese and American camps.

But what do you care, right? And further evidence of your bigotry is the simple fact that you questioned the fact there there were 6 million Jews killed but never questioned the fact that roughly 5 million non-Jews were killed. IOW, your anti-Semitism is there for all to see on that regard alone.

First of all, I did do that. I pointed out homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses and others were also in the camp. Secondly, I would estimate the number of Jews specifically killed in WW II to be closer to 7+ million, probably more accurately closer to 8 million, but you can't say for sure due to the fact that the Russian Jews were killed without any record keeping.

I dispute only two things. The accuracy of the 6 Million number, which predated the war by over a half a century, and the gas chambers.

Anyhow, people doing what you're doing are a dime a dozen, so this is my last post on this with you.

When you mix lies with truth, for whatever reason, you water the truth down.

"But I (Jesus) say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"

How does a person love their enemies?
Pray for them for starters. God may tell you more to do for your enemy, but prayer is always a good place to begin.

I know you don't like tongues, but this is a perfect example of where it comes in handy. I think you and I left off with "groaning which cannot be uttered" as a way to pray for things or people we don't understand. This is where such a thing comes in handy. I may not know what's causing that person to persecute me, but God does, and He can tell the spirit He gave me what the problem is and that spirit can then make perfect intercession.

But as it says, we can also pray with our understanding. I trust no Christian would have trouble with that. It works just fine.

God so loved that He gave. We have the love of God shed in our hearts, so we can utilize that love to give to others whatever God puts on our hearts to give them. Again, this is another place where the manifestations of the spirit shine. God can tell me via a word of knowledge what that person needs. He can then give me a word of wisdom so I know what to do with that information. After that, I may use yet another manifestation of the spirit to heal that person of something or cast a devil spirit out of them, yet two more manifestations of the spirit.

Would I be doing all of that for my own benefit? Would I be puffed up or arrogant for doing any of that? I don't think so! It would be me giving of myself which is how we should love one another.

Ah, so dogmatic on a point of presumed "science" aren't we? You people really sound religious when someone touches your precious Darwinism; even though modern evolutionary theory has basically modified or out right debunked all of Darwin's original scientific claims. :p

Yes you do seem to be rather dogmatic that the multiple lines of evidence that show evolution has been happening for about 4.5 billion years before darwin made an observation dont actually exist and its all god magic.

It is understood by most people with a modicum of intelligence that, given hindsight, darwins comments on his observations were as accurate as possible for the time but further observations have refined some of his work. Like all good ideas, it improves over time as new observations or discoveries are made , or are you still using a zx80 and analogue piece of string and 2 tin cans to communicate?

So you believe God can be defined and is not an incomprehensible Mystery.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by an incomprehensible mystery, but here are a few scriptures that say we can know God and His son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 17:3,

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1Cor 2:16,

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Phil 3:10,

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Eph 1:17-19,

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
There are many more that say we can know God, but these should give you a good starting point. After all, God is our father. He is a perfect father and as such does not keep Himself hidden from us. Not even a good earthly father keeps himself hidden from their children. I know that some religions speak of mysteries, but if their doctrine contradicts the scriptures, it is up to each individual as to who to believe, man or God.

As for speaking in tongues, ( he that speaks in an unknown tongue, edifieth himself) ( For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for battle)
( Except you utter by the tongue words easy to understood, how shall it be know what is spoken, for you shall speak into the air)
1st Corinthians 14:4-11.

As for Love you enemies.
Let's for say, that your enemy comes at you to beat you, are you to just stand there letting your enemy beat you or do you pick up club and correct them in the error of their way.
Out of love you correct your enemy in the error of their way. That's how you Love your enemy.
If you saw your enemy walking in the way that leads them to eternal death, You correct them in the error of their way
That's how you Love your enemy.

And my own favorite is 1John 4:8 and16 God is love. But that is not how we 'define' him/her, in essence, wholly Other. We 'know' Him through the anthropomorphism of biblical language drawn from how a peoples experience of Him. I may 'know' God through silence and meditation, but He remains Mystery.

Speaking in tongues:

You stopped two verses short in 1 Corinthians 14.

1Cor 14:12-13,

12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue pray that he may interpret.
Speaking in tongues without interpretation is for the believer's private prayer life. Verse 4 says that it edifies, builds up, the believer.

But, if someone stands in the middle of a service and starts speaking in tongues then sits down, then that person becomes as a crazy barbarian to the others in that service (1 Cor 14:11, 14:23). Therefore, Paul says that we must interpret in the language of the majority of those in that meeting so that everybody, not just the speaker, gets edified (1 Cor 14:5). Prophecy is equal to speaking in tongues with interpretation in that in both cases the church can get a message from God in their own language.

Addressing a guy who is beating on you:

I think there are innumerable ways that we can show love for our enemy, but in some way shape or form, it involves giving something to them. "For God so love that He gave..." Correcting them is certainly a good possibility, but not the only one. Jesus gave his life without ever trying to correct the soldiers who were pounding nails into his hands and feet. Apparently that was the way to handle that situation. Every situation is different.

How does one know what to do in a particular situation? Sorry to say it, but the only way to know for sure is to operate the manifestation of word of knowledge and word of wisdom. I don't see any other method in the scriptures to gain information from God about a specific situation. The book is full of instances where God speaks to people about a specific situation. The scriptures certainly tell us a lot of things, but the book is only so big. It can't possible cover all possible interactions you will have in this life. Enter stage right the manifestations of the spirit. God gave it to you and He is just waiting for you to operate it so He can tell you how to handle any situation in which you may find yourself.

Rom 12:20-21,

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Trying to defeat darkness with darkness is futile. It just just gets darker. But there is no amount of darkness that can extinguish even the tiniest amount of light. Light dispels darkness. That is a physical law, and even more than a law in the spiritual realm.

I understand what you mean now. I guess it amounts to we can know the things He tells us about Himself, but not the things He doesn't tell us. It's just a matter of finding out what He did tell us. In other words, we need to study the scriptures because it is in them that He reveals Himself.

But we all have a mind and our own thoughts. Unfortunately, our limited mind and thoughts do get in the way of learning about God. We just can't quite get the whole picture. But when Christ reappears, we'll finally see the whole thing crystal clear!

1Cor 13:12,

For now (today) we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then (Christ's reappearance, ala Revelations) shall I know even as also I am known.
I can't think of a better summary of the situation!

Before I could even begin answering your question, I would have to know if you accept the scriptures as your sole source of truth. What sayest thou?
