At least Trump has not lost his sense of humor:

Trump: You can’t impeach someone ‘doing a great job’

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
You can impeach him, but do you want Pence to be the President? You think people are whining now... You ain't seen nuttin' yet.
So that's where the Trumpettes are now?

We've gone from "it never happened" to "it happened but it wasn't illegal" to "it happened and it was illegal but Trump didn't know about it" and now we've reached "it happened, it was illegal and Trump knew about it, but you can't impeach him because Pence would be worse!"

I don't think he will be impeached. He will be embarrassed into ineffectiveness. But yes, Pence is another man that should not be President.

What Trump is likely to do is to cause the Congress to go Democratic. The House is very sure to go Democratic, and if things get worse for Trump the Senate will too.

And let's not forget the dire results of impeaching Trump. After all he has given himself an "A+" and claimed that the stock market would fail if he was kicked out.

Hello. While it would be hard to find more than a policy or two that I would agree with Pence on, I would absolutely prefer him over Trump as President.

Peace

Then you'd be crazy, lol.

Even more against LGBT than Trump (Trump is really neutral on this), more pro-gun, more conservative, and down with the religious right even more. Worse for the left, Pence is someone the entire party will rally on without a single reservation.

My position on the issue is the same: Nothing will happen to Trump for an issue that happened in his private space. He can lie all he wants, but it's a civil not a criminal matter. Collusion isn't a crime, all the people charged and found guilty were guilty of things like fraud and tax evasion. Trump isn't even in question as far as illegal acts or Mueller would have gone straight to the jugular.

1) Colluding with Russia to win an election is election fraud. You pay a fine, nothing else happens. To revert or repair election results they would have to absolutely prove the discrepancy. Otherwise, they stick. If they had this, it'd have already happened. If he was talking with Russia before the elections he's a private citizen and that's allowed. If he was talking with them after his oath those conversations are totally within the scope of a Presidents diplomatic duties.

2) Sneaking money through your lawyer to hush someone with an NDA. Civil not criminal matter. If the funds were found to be campaign funds, or something that could be considered as such - fine, no jail. Obama did similar mishandling of campaign money. They would have to prove that he didn't know he could use his personal funds and intended to commit the offense. Not likely. Fine, no jail, no impeachment, even if he knew what he was doing was wrong.

So, don't buy the hype because that's all it is. I'm not thinking Trump is some innocent little whatever or anything, but these convictions of third parties have no impact. Any testimony Cohen provides will seem coerced to a jury, so likely will fall on deaf ears as well. My recommendation is keep a cool head, realize the **** show for what it is. Perhaps what bothers me the most is the Dems are playing their own constituents. If Mueller doesn't have an actual case on Trump by October even the bulk of the Dems will be disgusted.

Trump's one really smart decision (for him) was to get Pence to be VP.

Yeah, but not his only smart decision. Anyone that thinks Trump is dumb is dumb themselves. There is no way that man got where he is by not being absolutely skillful at what he's doing. It's numerically impossible... :D No one gets as rich as he is or gets to the President seat without such mastery. Hate him, call him whatever you want, doesn't change the math.

Trump disarms people with his simple appearance, but personally I think that's part of his game. His opponents underestimated him to their complete misery.

Pence was an insurance policy and what was required to get the fence sitters on the Republican side to galvanize behind Trump. It was a masterful selection, if you can't figure that out you're the one with the issues. :D

I swear that has been the strategy of Presidents for quite some time. Get rid of Nixon, you are stuck with Agnew. Get rid of Clinton, you are stuck with Algore. Get rid of a Bush, Dan Quayle or Dick Cheney. At the time that Obama won Biden was thought to be a loon, though he seemed to improve towards the end of his two terms.

Trump started out with a nice dowry from his daddy. Beyond that Trump is a hustler and a con man. He is very skillful at that. A lot of his money was made by setting up a concept, making himself managing partner, getting investors, declaring bankruptcy. He is no better than or different from Bernie Madoff.

As I said...

It helped him the evangelicals and also assured that he would be relatively safe from getting kicked out of office.

But he would have gotten the evangelicals any way. He is a skillful shepherd to the gullible sheeples. If you doubt that, just recognize that they haven't left him in spite of his immorality.
