The New System

Earthling

David Henson
I can't wait to see the technological advances in the new system! Imagine, instead of having to imagine what the future will bring all you will have to do is wait for it. Imagine how much more we could do learning, not from imperfect men, but the Creator of the universe, Jehovah God! We won't have to guess how old the universe is or where life came from, we will know. From someone who was there and made it all happen. Instead of working on something for 40 years or so you could work on it for 1,000 or more. Not to mention our intelligence will be remarkably superior to what it is now. In the new system.

Nudge, nudge.

So...when's the new system to be installed?

We are living in the end times. But, the end times began when Adam and Eve had their first child. So, it could be today at 3:07 PM Eastern or it could be a thousand years from now. The good thing is, the time from when you die to when you are in the new system is like the time you wake up from a sleep. If it's a thousand years it would seem like overnight to you. If it comes in your lifetime that would be different, of course.

Some urge repentance using fear,
and say the end is very near.
But then they must
their date adjust
to float so that it's never here.

I think the only way there will be a 'new system' is if *we* create it. We have seen claims of an 'end times' for centuries and the claim wears a bit thin after a while. Perhaps even counting as a refutation of the original claim.

Well, I think that what you fail to appreciate is that all the while 'we', the proverbial, have been trying to create it ourselves and have failed miserably at it. We, if we are honest and aware, now are pretty sure that we are creating only our own doom. The new system will come when that is painfully obvious to everyone.

Sorta like "Thy kingdom come" . Interesting follow-up though "Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven." Sorta indicates to me that the system is already here, we just haven't recognized it. My hunch is that the kingdom coming is just a matter of awareness.

There will be a new heavens and a new earth is a familiar theme. It was already done a couple times to a lesser extent with the global deluge and on a smaller scale with the destruction and reestablishment of Jerusalem. It means a new government and a new people. The old system is destroyed and replaced by a new one. In the new system the governments, religions, and commerce along with many of it's people, are destroyed and replaced by Jehovah God's kingdom.

Perhaps what is keeping us from the "New System" is our failures. If there is a God, maybe God is waiting on us to stop failing. So we gotta keep working at it until we get it right.

I'm not a big fan of the idea that God will magically/spiritually perfect us. I'd whether put the work in to achieve any self improvement.

We have created many new systems over time. We just have to figure out what we want the next one to look like. Such systems are always a mix of the old and the new, but we can hope that certain types of superstitious nonsense will fade over time.

Interestingly, the Bible says the sun will be no more sometime in the distant future. God himself will supply our light instead. The world, or system, will end. The planet earth will last forever.

Jeese! (No allusion intended) That's kinda heavy. I like my version better. I'm gonna go sit in the bleachers and wait. I wonder if the teams will bust through something when they enter. That'd be cool.

OK, and there are other myths with different statements. So what? Shall we see what the actual evidence says by going to the science? I suspect not.

I think I missed that science text.
My reading indicates that stars have a life cycle which poses
a risk different from merely disappearing...it will grow in size,
eventually encompassing & destroying the Earth.
