The first time I heard of banning anything to do with climate change was before Trump. It was the governor of Fl., Scott. The freedoms we are on the verge of loosing would have been unthinkable before the Trump invasion of our democracy.

Many. Problem is who has all the power. Lawsuits must work their way through the lower courts. Trump is currently filling the over 200 judges, that this same Congress refused to hold hearings for Obama nominees, to the federal courts. And unless the over 80 yr old Justice Ginsberg and Kennedy are going to hang on, Trump will all but own the Supreme Court. The Republican Congress must pay their debt to their wealthy donors who are getting impatient.

The right has a version of political correctness which is anti-science and anti-truth when it interferes with their ideology. It's the same kind of totalitarian nonsense that dictatorships have indulged in as we can see from Germany and the USSR not so long ago. And today you get in very serious trouble if you question the ideology of China by presenting contrary facts.

From an email discussion I participated in recently in response to an article about the brain drain of climate scientists from America to France following Trump's rejection of the Paris accords and Macron's offer to take them in and underwrite their work. It addresses the politicization of science and the Soviets doing this a several decades ago.

With such a hostile environment for climate scientists, a brain drain is to be expected.

America's loss. Again.

This is in the great tradition of Bush banning embryonic stem cell research, and America falling behind in developing renewable energy harvesting technologies. The benefits there will go disproportionately to other countries with more science-friendly cultures.

This example of the politicization of science in the Soviet Union might be of interest to some:

there is no science with out PC peer review now days, imo. Trump is exactly the same military - banking puppet as those before him...just adjusted to times, e.g. we used to buy oil and give tax breaks to buy electric cars, to day we sell oil and we try to tax electric cars additionally because they deny governments oil tax revenues...
