Whaddaya think of that?

I did. We had a good conversation for a good while, while the bus took us home from the rehabilitation* place so people can find jobs. People with disabilities. As so they told me. Months later, I met a good friend. Only friend I knew there that didn't have a severe psychological disorder and/or has not committed crimes. He told me about the place and where he lives. I saw it. Horrible. I never found a job though.

When I found out people from jail have done crime all over United States, I was shocked. They were on parole and, because they didn't have a place to stay, were required to "find a job" rather than the government giving them a place and money while they do nothing. Five years ago or so, they started putting religion in the different organizations that help people with disabilities and people who commit crimes. I didn't know where I live that people in our local court are trialed for serious crimes.

When I found out, I called my therapist and yelled at her: "Why in the HELL did you put me in here?"

"I thought this was a good place for you so you can get a job..."

I hung up the phone and left.

I learned a couple of things. They are people. They mess up. They have choices. Also, I learned that I want to move. Kinda need money and a place to stay for that. Probably up in the mountains near me. The homes there are just as expensive but safer and closer to the monastery I want to go to sometime.

*The place I went to was public for people with disabilities and those who needed jobs. Our county is one of a few that have a bad social services system.

You'll be surprise who you hang around. Really. That's why I think the bias should be dropped. I notice our Catholic Church has prison ministries and such. I wonder if we can change our outlook by learning about people from a mental standpoint.

Anybody who has been in the Marines may have a tiny bit of a killing urge, and there are such people as snipers

Its possible. While I haven't had any interactions with a serial killer, that I know of. A friend of mine ex-wife was dating a guy. She used to being him to see her kids (my friend the father had custody). Seemed like a nice enough fella, but a few months later he got arrested for murdering a guy with an axe then hiding the body not far from where he lived. So it's wise to be careful around everyone. Sociopaths are good at masking their true intentions and putting on a show.

Impossible.

For a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage. It's impossible! For a plain country bumkin' and a prince to join in marriage. And four white mice would never be four white horses. And fallala and diddle dee of course its.

Impossible. Impossible. And the world is made of dainties and fools. Who don't believe in sensible rules. And wont believe what sensible people say, And because these daft and dewy-Eyed dopes keep building up impossible hopes, impossible, things are happening everyday.

Okay. I'm done singin'

None that I know of, but so very often all we ever see and know of anyone we interact with is the masks and performances they choose to let us see.

I was a bit surprised that there are not more than 2000 serial killers running around given how many are killed every day in multiple homicide shootings.

Many of us will kill if we feel the need to do so. Unfortunately, there are predators out there. Would be nice if we could kill 'em. :D:D
The US is full of cops that rob decent people. Surely makes a person desire a revolution or something. At times anarchy seems indicated. Start a country of your own, and the process all over again, but first kill all the wicked -- those I don't like. :):)

Well, if I have to remain Christian, I must try to be a good boy. Just so darned hard -- easier to give in to anger. I wouldn't mind becoming an angel of wrath, going around killing the wicked who truly deserves it. Might even be fun.

I wish you success at reining in the anger.

I am doing a lot better than when I was young. Must be that the energy available in the body is a lot less. But, due to physical abuse as a boy, not sexual, I have since I became adult not permitted anyone to get away with physical attempts on my person. I will use anything at hand to defend myself, including my car as a weapon. Used to never go unarmed out. Now, I don't care anymore; it helps that I live in a peaceful place.

What qualifies you as a serial killer? More than one? Two?

I think three, with clear "cool down" periods in between murders. Almost always no ties to the killer as well.

Two could just be a coincidence. Three is a pattern.

But it's been a while since I learned all about it, I might be a little off.

Personal experience is that the psychology of people who desire a revolution is usually a combination of ego, ignorance (or at least a strange kind of "unreality" in thinking about things in an overly abstract way) and genuine and legitimate personal grievances. Culturally, we're predisposed to the idea of the heroic dissident who is morally pure and courageous, but human beings are not that simple. The main attraction is that it "feels good" and can be empowering way to deal with rage (irrespective of ideology). But the anger is often directed at the wrong thing and is often not constructive to changing people's circumstances and helping themselves out of bad situations. They can have good intentions and be good people most of the time but are usually short-sighted as far as the violence of the cause is concerned and what people think is "good" is warped by the ideology.

edit: basically I'm not saying its wrong, only its more complicated than first impressions and should be treated with caution because its playing god. ;)

I think I agreed with mostly everything you said. However, the French revolution is an example of what happens when you push people too far. Many places around the globe push people too far. The robber police that has come to be, the killer monsters in uniform - tell us that society is approaching the precipice of anarchy. The recent unusual baseless deportations of people who have been established long time without any serious crime - all tell a dark tale.

Society must exist to give people a safe heaven in good times and in bad times. It does not exist so that 3 people in the US can own as much as all the rest. So while the rich can build walls around their huge estates, can they really exist without the rest of us? Everyone is better off when the difference between the poor and the rich is less extreme than it has become. Strangely enough it is one of the things that we are told brings God's wrath, namely, that the social contract has been rejected, the poor downtrodden to a huge extend, etc.
