Looking for Scripture Explicitly Forbidding Same-Sex Marriage

But you've already signed on to Paul's judgement. Why not let people who aren't hurting anyone live their lives and let God sort it out later? I think some homophobes are going to awaken to those big pearly gates, the golden roads, the jeweled buildings, and freak when some Queen is running things. :)

Be fierce, God, be fierce. :)

I have gay friends.
They do what gays do.

I have drunk friends too.
They do what drunks do.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 New International Version (NIV)

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

I did not wrote those - it has been there for centuries. The bible is the manual for people who want to have eternal life.

If people don't want that, this one might appeal for everybody

You could do whatever you would want. You are in a free country not in Russia. But if its the Bible we are talking about ....

And my point is that the Bible is demonstrably a product of morally primitive people.
Whether there is a connection to God is a subtly different question. This wouldn't matter if religious people didn't expect other people to accept the insupportable claim that those primitive people knew God better than I do.

A gay person who does not do the detestable acts (Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13) and who follows the will of the Father in heaven - has equal chances in obtaining eternal life.
We aren't talking about sex; we're talking about marriage. Please try to keep up.

I hope they could have eternal life but what is written is written. 1 Corinthians 6:9

At the end of time, it will be God who will be the judge of all. Romans 2:16
So your position is that same-sex marriage has no bearing on whether a person will get eternal life?

What is the law is the law.
What is written is written.
The choices are - to follow the law or not to follow the law.

Further, I am not the owner of heaven, let the owner judge at the appointed time who goes in or out. But what is in the bible is this:

Revelation 22:15 New International Version (NIV)

Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Your self righteous pride is not only unconvincing. It is solid evidence that you don't know any more about God than I do, probably less.
Tom

Sorry but I did not author the bible, just showed it to you.

You can be gay, if you want to - it is a free country.

And the self appointed theocrats: the hypocrites, the sexually uptight, the morally superior, the religious bigots, and everyone who discourages the questioning of authority.

And you don't think that an unmarried gay couple in a committed relationship are "following the law" any more than a married gay couple, correct?

So what I said is true: you have no Biblically-based argument against same-sex marriage.

Further, I am not the owner of heaven, let the owner judge at the appointed time who goes in or out.
That's a bit rich, considering that all you've done in this thread is judge.

People are entitled to do what ever activity they want under the sun. You live in a free liberal country. You are free to be what you want straight or gay.

I believe the US have divorce and abortion - so it doesn't really matter if you would add same sex marriage.

Trump 'fine' with Supreme Court's gay marriage ruling

So you aren't against same-sex marriage? Good to know. Most of your posts in this thread gave the opposite impression.

I am just from another country.
You Americans do what you think it is best for you.

I'm for the marriage written in the Bible

But people are free to do what they are allowed to do in their own country.

As you can see all BLUE states allows same sex marriage.
Except the non blue states. So it is a non issue. Americans virtually have same sex marriages

Which kind of "marriage written in the Bible"?

- one man owning one or more women as chattel?
- a rapist and his victim?
- a soldier and the prisoner of war he forces to marry him?

Or are you in favour of all of them?

But people are free to do what they are allowed to do in their own country.

Your map is out of date. Same-sex marriage has been legal in every state in the US since 2015.

(And it's been legal nationwide in my country since 2005.)

People are entitled to what benefits and freedoms their respective country offer. If that is the law, then it is the law of the land.

A. I don't care for Paul. I find him to be a Trojan Horse virus in Christianity.

B. I also believe that God will enter people into heaven who are currently being abused by "normal" people by default. Just to mess with the bigots. :)

(That whole "poor in spirit" and "last shall become first" thing.)

I did not wrote those - it has been there for centuries. The bible is the manual for people who want to have eternal life.
There are other manuals that predate the bible that also offer sweet deals.

What is the law is the law.
What is written is written.
Jesus said that marriage doesn't exist in heaven, so it's all pointless anyway.

The choices are - to follow the law or not to follow the law.
Immoral laws SHOULDN'T be followed.

Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Like the falsehoods that gays are evil?

I'm for the marriage written in the Bible
Incestuous polygamy?

Paul is an apostle of Christ for the Gentiles. Romans 11:13
Let people have their entitlements.
If a country has laws supporting such then they are entitled to it. Titus 3:1
At the end of all things, we are going to face the Master and he will be the judge of all things. Acts 17:31

"13 I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry"
You really don't see the irony in accepting Paul's assertion to be a Spokesman for God simply because he claims it? And his claim wound up in the Canon because some other people who disagree with you about Jesus put it in there?

I believe Paul's writings are part of the gospel.
I have heard people disregarding Paul's writings, well that is their business.

You would be wrong.
There are 4 Gospels and none refer to Paul.

I honestly believe that is part of the reason that they were written. To tell the Jesus story pointing out that Paul isn't in it, despite Paul's self styling himself "Apostle" .

Yep, they did not refer to Paul.

You could read Saul [Paul] in Acts and he met the other apostles and heard the voice of Jesus Christ commissioning him to be an apostle to the Gentiles.

I think Acts of the Apostles was written by Apostle Luke who also wrote Book of Luke
