Why do people hate Muslims?

Every time someone speaks the truth about Muslim they are called Islamophobic's, I don't hate most Muslims but I do hate their beliefs, their beliefs don't belong in a civilized world as we know it. Its great if they keep it to themselves and not force it onto others, this is sadly what is happening throughout the world, they cannot and don't know how to assimilate with others who think differently, and until they can, they should not be allowed into other countries, this is not being a Islamophobic, this is the truth of the matter.

Yes, that is being Islamophobic. But you're not interested in the truth, anyway. You rejoice in your hatred.

I think the bigotry comes from looking at the actions of a few violent Muslims (few in the grand scheme of things) and equating it to all of Islam. The media does a poor job of separating the two, and many in the US get their news from a 5 minute snippet on face book or wherever, and the bigotry grows from that ignorance. This is my perception of it, without interviewing people, that'd be my best guess.
And people in their ignorance ignore the actions of billions of Muslims focusing only on the few. By that token, the right wing is a terrorist organization aiming to institute a Christian dictatorship in the USA and murder millions of Jews, Muslims, blacks and Hispanics. And I have the same level of proof as the anti-Muslims have. To wit Prosecutors charge man with murder as an act of terrorism in New York stabbing

See you don't understand what I am saying, all that I have shared is fact, you can find what I said if you search, sitting back and pretending everything is fine to me is being cowardly, all the problems we are having around the world is caused mainly by religious beliefs, yes and the main cause is the Muslims belief system, i think you know that but just don't want to admit it ?.

To really read the Quran, you have to read Quranic Arabic. There are some Suras that are vastly different depending on the translation.

But, of course, we all know that Jesus preached war because he said he brought a sword. Right?
Of course there is truth in what you say, but come on you can't make excuses for every single evil verse, admit its there, and while its there, the evil ones will use it for their cause.

Yes, I don't think the Imam would mind. There's a sermon every friday.

If I was allowed to observe I probably wouldn’t be able to understand it unless they were required to preach in English.

According to what I heard on the BBC last week, even prison officers are not allowed to observe imams preach in UK prisons because of the Human Rights of Muslim prisoners.

What do they have to hide?

I'm almost certain it would have. But trying to say that "the West" owns everything good that in fact occurred in a globalized and heavily interconnected world... then insisting that it must be "protected" from the "East" to preserve advancements and wealth that were, in fact, mutually produced through their interaction... is blinkeringly ignorant. QUOTE]

So what I'm finding out is the decline of the Islamic golden age was a result of a return to Islamic fundamentalism. A denial of science in favor of Faith and God. Honestly I'd expect the same with a resurgence of Christian or Jewish fundamentalism. The golden age came about not because of religion but because of a decrease in religious fundamentalism.

Religious fundamentalism, wherever it comes from is a threat to science, philosophy and progress. The threat for now is Islamic fundamentalism. Not because it is Islamic but because it is religious fundamentalism.

It shows the core of Abrahamic religious teaching is not good. It's anti-science, it is anti-tolerant, it is anti-progressive.

I'm not an anti-theist but it's becoming clear the Abrahamic religions are not good for humanity.

These beliefs came from barbaric times. It's time to let go of them. Any benefit claimed by Religious apologists are lies.

How many Christians today practices their backward bible verses ?, the problem with many Muslims they do still believe all that evil crap, its part of their culture, they are far behind the eight-ball, and this is what is coming into our countries, they all want the world to be Muslim, if you can't see that then you must be blind, I am sorry, but that is the way it is if you like it or not.

I see that now. It's not a Islam specific threat. It is religious fundamentalism which is a threat to the progress of humanity.
However religious freedom is a basic tenant of US law. Is it our weakness? I can't* see any good coming from restricting religious freedom either.

I don't think that's assimiliation it's integration. Majority of the Muslims in the west speak the language, treat people equally, respect the law and other people.

Ok, maybe if you're more comfortable with that term. As long as they can adapt to secular rule.

I think there is a case against fundamental Islam, or any religious fundamentalism.

Faith based belief I think is a problem for humanity. The focus for now, because as you say, "the media", is Islam.

I'm not desperately doing anything but trying to speak the truth. My main goal in life is the truth.

As much as I dislike Islam, I cannot ignore the amount of destruction America and the rest of the West has done in the middle east. These contributed to unstable regions and extremism. If you ignore that then you are ignoring a huge contributing factor.

I would argue in fact were in not for imperialism the ME would be far more secular today than it is now.

I wonder how much of that destruction was the result of religious belief? Bush thought he was doing God's work.
