Changing the Bible

I am going to have fun or i won't do it.

We all need to have a sense of humor when discussing religious differences.

The verse uses the word inspiration.
You are correct that it means God breathed.
I would suggest that we all have the breath of God in us and therefore are all capable of our own inspiration.

You are half fight. We all do have the breath of God in us, but unless the person has the indwelling Holy Spirit, they are in incapable of having any original spiritual inspiration.

Anything written down is subject to corruption.
Corruption is actually on some level normal.

Not when God holds the writers pen. Surely the God who can create the heavens and the earth can guide the pen of those He chose to write the Bible. If what you say is true, we can't have any confidence in what the Bible says.

Children twist and turn language and rules around so much it makes them unrecognizable to the generation that spawned them.
If the Bible was not corrupted it would have been rejected by most and would not have survived as long as it has.

Children did not write the Bible. If the 'bible was corrupted its books would not be in the Bible ans some were not included in the canon because they were corrupted. What in the bible do you think is corrupted?

When i try and tell people that the Bible has been corrupted so bad that the original message is almost impossible to discern. i often get laughed at.

Unless you have some irrefutable evidence, that is the natural response.

I don't know why it is so difficult to believe when the historical writings make it so clear.

What writings?

Even the Bible itself says that it is corrupted which is completely rejected and twisted by many Christians.

How about book, chapter and verse.

The corruption and inaccuracies along with some of the more outrages verses that have been posted recently are there for a reason.
The book is not a history book it is designed to be a catalyst to gaining knowledge of self.

Be specific. point to the corruptions, inaccuracies and outrageous verses. The Bible is not basically about knowing our self. It mainly about knowing Jesus; who He is and what He has don for us.

Why is it so important to know who we are?
Because The Christ is with in us and all we have to do is seek and we will find.
We must become the spotless bride for the bridegroom within.
It is only then will the bridegroom appear.

When Jesus died for our sin, His bride became spotless(Eph 5:25-27).

I am suggesting that the only valid source of knowledge comes from within (Aka the breath of God, that which is called the soul and spirit of man)[/QUOTE]

The only source of valid knowledge is from God's word. The knowledge of man is limited. Our true knowledge comes from "God, explained by His Holy Spirit. If that which is within us that is not reinforced by the Bible, it is wrong.

If this is not true then we have no way of knowing anything other than relying on what someone else tells us.

Not if 2 Tim 3:16 is true, and it is or we can have no confidence in anything we beliive.

Who decided the name of the primary colors and why don't we change them?
Who decides that water is called water?
Who decides that air is called air?
Who decides what i am to believe about anything at all but me?
Get the picture?
Are we nothing but what someone else wants us to be or do we have the ability to know the truth for ourselves?
Is the Truth really able to be contained in a book without the book having to be hidden away for fear of it being corrupted?
This seems rather foolish.
Is not God Truth?

WE do not have the ability to know spiritual truth without God's Holy Spirit guiding us into it. It is foolish to think Bible must be hidden away. The Bible has been the best selling book of all time and who do you think is hiding it. In my church all the adults openly bring their Bible.

I apologize for the misunderstanding it was not meant to be sarcasm.
For those of us old enough to remember, it took a great deal of inspiration to go streaking.

bart_streaking1.gif

I enjoy sarcasm and try to use it to make a point stronger. The problme is that sometimes sarcasm seems to be insulting.

You did in msg #134
I really don't know if you are kidding.

You DO say every word in the Bible is authorized by The Spirit of God. Do you not say that?

You don't have the ability to know who I chose and this proven by the FACT, that I have chose to follow God.
How else do you know God to follow God except for what you think the Bible says?

There are 4 answers: Yes it is---not it isn't---maybe--- maybe not.
"The Whole Bible" isn't a thing that exists so no, "the whole bible" isn't for every believer. If it was, then your god is awful to let you believe you need something that can't be.

One can exhibit any of those definitions, but they do not describe true worship. If I worshiped the Bible I would pray to it and talk to it . I pray to God and let the Bible speak to me.
It is amazing to me that you were not a Jehovah's Witness. I thought they were the only ones coining "true" worship.

THINK, man!
YOU say all the words in the Bible are original from The Holy Spirit. Do you not think that?

The Bible doesn't "say" as it isn't a living thing. When you read it, it is YOU saying what it means. You must know that.

I have placed my confidence in the way, truth and life (One thing).

How can the Bible be The Way? Does it not say that Jesus is the way and that he is the law's outcome?

I shall show you where you will end by going the way of The Bible. Notice that in that place Jesus (not his real name) is DEAD.

If you have anything besides personal opinion, you need to produce it when making such a statement.
I open a bible. It has two testaments, the latter of which claiming to be better than the former one.

Silly is a silly does. Get a good dictionary and get the definition of porn. If you don' understand it, maybe you have a neighbor who can explain it to you?
It has other connotations besides sex. Revelation is a book in the style of apocalyptic porn:
1. Lots of special effects. Hardly any characterization. It's essentially a Michael Bay film.
2. Everyone who ends up dying are people the author hates.
3. No one ever tries to remedy problems: no, apparently it's much smarter to destroy the planet.
4. The author revels in the destruction. We are never meant to feel sorry for any of the victims. They were all "evil" or some other nonsense.

From Revelation to Planet of the Apes to The Walking Dead ... they all pretty much say the same stupid stuff.

I'm asking YOU. You said if she wanted to find her grandma, she should look in the bible.

Everyone is spiritually sick until Jesus heals them.
Jesus never goes to every single person in the stories, does he?

All of the non-believers get their theology from atheists internet sites.
I can read about standard curses found in ancient literary tropes. Revelation didn't invent the idea.

And then I wonder why someone who actually believes in Jesus would actually think that they can win some over by the use of such sarcasm and demeaning talk?
Jesus knows about sarcasm and insults. He must've sent himself to hell for it.

Matthew 5:22New International Version (NIV)

22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[a] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’[c] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Matthew 23:17New International Version (NIV)

17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

God would not to someone He loves.
So, He hated Adam and Eve? He left out WHY He didn't want Adam to eat from the Tree of Knowledge and Eve hadn't even been created yet when the rule was made.

You may be a believer, but Christians do not worship the Bible. That is an absurd statement.
Ask yourself this: if God came down TODAY and told you the bible is just a human document, what would you tell Him?

I'm not that smart, so I just plagiarize the "Bible.

How else do you know God to follow God except for what you think the Bible says?

What makes you think I don't know what the Bible says? Let me guess; because you don't believe what i say because it is different than what you believe.

"The Whole Bible" isn't a thing that exists so no, "the whole bible" isn't for every believer. If it was, then your god is awful to let you believe you need something that can't be.

Are you really suggesting the whole Bible does not exist. Then what am I looking at to post verses from? What does the Bible say I need that I can't be? Please include chapter and verse.

Jn 4:24 - God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Try another one. You AGAIN change a verb into a noun.

True worship; "worship" a noun

John 4:24 "worship"; a verb.

Don't believe me. Look it up yourself. Look up, man! Who reads a book looking up? You read looking down. Look up!

If not from God, from whom?
If the Bible is not from God, who is it from?

Is this a trick question?

The Bible is from a publisher. There are different ones. Publishers are people. The Bible is from people.

But there is so much agreeing in it! Is it not because in God's image man is?

Do you mean you can't have confidence in what GOD says if you can't trust what the Bible says?

How do you know what God says outside of the Bible?

The Bible doesn't "say" as it isn't a living thing. When you read it, it is YOU saying what it means. You must know that.

The Bible isn't but what is in it is---For the word of Go is living and active...Heb 4:12.

...and He received living oracles to pass on---Act 7:38

I have placed my confidence in the way, truth and life (One thing).

Since that comes from the Bible, how do you know it is inspired by God?

How can the Bible be The Way? Does it not say that Jesus is the way and that he is the law's outcome?

It would be helpful if you quoted what I actually say. I have NEVER said the Bible is the way. The way is not the outcome of the law, it is the outcome of God's FREE grace.

I shall show you where you will end by going the way of The Bible. Notice that in that place Jesus (not his real name) is DEAD.

Do not judge.

You can't seem in that picture but I was on the cross with Jesus(Rom 6:6). I was also buried with Him and resurrected with Him(Rom 6:4). Now my life is hidden with Christ in God(Col 3:3)

Thanks for validating one verse in the Bible---I Cor 2:14

I'm asking YOU. You said if she wanted to find her grandma, she should look in the bible.

I didn't say that.

Jesus never goes to every single person in the stories, does he?

Yes He does.

No, God did.

Matthew 23:17New International Version (NIV)

Those He said that to were not His brothers.

17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

What do you find wrong with that?

]So, He hated Adam and Eve? He left out WHY He didn't want Adam to eat from the Tree of Knowledge and Eve hadn't even been created yet when the rule was made.

Thanks for reaffirming your ignorance of the Bible.

Ask yourself this: if God came down TODAY and told you the bible is just a human document, what would you tell Him?

God told me there would be false teaches, prophets and those claiming to be God---get thee behind me Satan.

Ask your self this: If God came down TODAY and told you the Bible was inspired by Me, what would you tell Him?

OK. I understand

I was also buried with Him
I would ask Joseph of Arimathea about that.

and resurrected with Him(Rom 6:4).
That might mean zombie.

Now my life is hidden with Christ in God(Col 3:3)
My understanding is it happens only at the end, just like God says, "he who endures to the end is saved".

What does Matthew 24:13 mean to you?

John 8:44 "there is no truth in him". There "truth" can't be the Bible for surely the devil knows what is written in the Bible!

That is a strange verse to try and prove the Bible is not God's word. Even if the devil knows God word, he never uses it accurately. The father of lies, will always lie about it like he did to Eve.
