If you tell that to the murderers, terrorists, rapists, and paedophiles when they come to harm you do you think you or your god is going to save you?
All actions are done by Prakruti. There's something called as 'Prarabdha' that can not be avoided. Even for Jivanmukta there's Prarabdha until he drops his physical body.

Do you think you have a free will or something else is acting through you?
We experience we have free will but we don't have actually. The self is aloof from actions that are done by Prakruti. Once you know you are not doer you are liberated.

When the police come to get a criminal for having committed a crime, should he defend himself by saying: don't jail me sir, my mind was taken over by Prakruti, jail Prakruti not me?

I am sorry if I upset you by calling Shiva evil. I have a theory that gods are divided into good, indifferent, and evil governing sattvic, rajasic and tamasic gunas respectively. All our thoughts and beliefs are derived from gods in our subconscious. You may not like the word evil but what I mean by that is that if you are evil-minded person who is prone to doing bad things from svabhava (nature) you will be attracted to a evil god in your guna consciousness no matter what name you give that god. And since Brahma is sattvic, and Vishnu is rajasic, that only leaves Shiva to be the Trimurti's evil god. Sorry if this is unpalatable to some.

Since I am a Saivite Hindu, it naturally follows from this that I would be an evil person. Evil begets evil. Of course each person has a right to their personal take on our great faith. It's just too bad that some people like to broadcast their sectarian view, and in so doing, insult other sects. But that's the way it goes. I still love all my Hindu brethen.

Isn't Prakruti jada? If so How can it act on its own?
Purusha illuminates Prakruti but Purusha itself doesn't act. Purusha seems to be affected but in reality everything is done by Prakruti. Purusha acts is an illusion, just as how we sitting in any vehicle see all things moving but actually the vehile is moving.

The only path to liberation is to get rid of the baggage of your beliefs that you are not responsible for your actions.

What are the main principles (dharma) of your saivism and who taught you how to be this way?

Atma is purest in all, self-illuminous, without a second. It is Sat and this can not be altered by Asat ie Prakruti. Saying the self is affected by Prakruti is just like saying the sky is affected by impurities present in it. Fools think sky is affected.

What causes atman to illuminate itself?

Jada means Matter...That entity which is only existent, which is not Conscious

The energy of the universe is two-fold: physical energy and consciousness energy. The physical energy is the light and heat generation while the consciousness energy describes life and all movement. Matter is produced from a combination of both these energies.

I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in debating this. At this point in time, I can't see it bearing any fruit. Suffice it to say there are lots of books detailing the various sects of Hinduism, and their beliefs. Really it's 3 or 4 totally separate religions. I'm off to koyil at the moment.
