What If We Admitted to Children That Sex Is Primarily About Pleasure?

And yet comprehensive sex education actually decreases teenage pregnancy. You're arguing we have to lie to kids and that they're not smart enough to see through that.
You don't have to lie, you can still talk about sex, and let themselves realize the pleasure, and again I say the they are not ready, and yes it could be that many are not smart enough right now ?.

What is reasonable? The problem with your reply is that you leave out defining what you are talking about.
It's the "know it when I see it" standard. I'm not a parenting expert. Sex education is more in my bailiwick.

If you're going to insist on defining terms, I'd like you to define "innocence" and "fragile" in your post. What's the harm in the situation you described?

You're saying kids aren't smart enough to find out that you're lying. And yes, deliberately omitting information is a lie, you're misrepresenting a situation. Finding out that genitals are pleasurable is something toddlers know and pre-teens/teens figure out pretty quickly.
Hiding stuff from kids isn't terribly effective.

And again, comprehensive sex education is shown to reduce teenage pregnancy. Not increase it. So giving kids honest and open information about sex, including hey, it feels good too, is a good thing.

Good, if you are happy believing that, but let others bring up their children the way they want, and not be called a liar, I think its good for children to discover their own bodies without adults sticking their noses in to it.

A) Lying is lying even when it's to kids
B) It isn't about belief, but research and statistics. My "belief" is backed up by my education.
C) Children get adults' guidance in pretty much everything, why would their bodies be different?

Research and statistics haven't done any good yet, and again its much better for the child to discover their own bodies, you can believe in whatever your want, but that doesn't make it the truth, can you handle the truth ?.

How has it "not done any good."
You're doing the equivalent of stating the moon is made of cheese, science can't say otherwise, and if you don't believe me, you can't handle the truth.

Children will discover their bodies and the world, and we generally find it important for adults to give them guidance in everything else. Why would their bodies be different?

Can't you let others have their own way of bringing up children, you seem to want to be right, period. I can except what you believe, as long as you keep that belief to yourself, or share it with those who like your belief. But I have said what I believe is right for me, now except that, if you can't well don't bother replying to my answer, I hate circular arguing.

You can believe the moon's made of cheese. But science says otherwise. I'm basing my opinions on research, something you've said is worthless. I cannot accept not liking what research says as equivalent to going with the science. Just as I cannot accept believing the moon is made of cheese as a belief equal in validity to the moon being made of rock.

Research my butt, stop hiding behind the word science as if you know it all.

I have no interest in researching your butt.

I don't claim to know it all, this is however my preferred field of interest in my education and career.
Good, keep it there, don't try to make others believe what you believe, just because its all part of your life.

I can't make anyone think anything. I can hope to convince people not to stick with a belief just because it feels good and not because it's effective.

Teen pregnancy drops when sex education is taught and contraceptives are available. It rises when abstinence only education is all that is provided. I know you don't believe in statistics, but that's on you.

It's boggling that teaching kids about everything else in the world is ok, but they should discover their bodies and only their bodies on their own. That would be like not teaching a kid about the alphabet because they should discover letters on their own.

You don't get do you, and also, your statistics are not the same as they are in my country, Australia, and again, yes it is great for kids to discover a lot of things on their own, why take that pleasure away from them.

Please show me the statistics you're talking about so we can talk.
Kids discover a lot of things by themselves and then ask adults questions and good adults don't lie to them. We don't just let kids teach themselves everything.

Can't you read, I didn't say everything, my god were you ever a child ???.

I can.
But you're implying there's something different about a child's body without clarifying what that is that makes bodies different than say, colors, the alphabet or physics.

I don't know your god, but yes I was indeed a child. A very inquisitive one.

ETA: Please provide your statistics if you want to argue that they're different.

I was a very inquisitive child also, and that is why I feel the way I do, I discovered many things on my own, wouldn't have it any other way.

You seem to think that I'm advocating parents sitting down with a 3 year old and saying "SEX IS FUN YOU SHOULD DO IT."

Please provide your statistics.
