I don't mean hang out with us in spirit, but actually there in person. If god is like us, made into the same image, etc. why not visit like friends and family do? at least once, and again, not in spirit but physically in person instead. especially if god wants us to live according to gods needs or wants.

I think he's worried that if he hangs out with one family today, the neighbors will get jealous. Hey, when you're God, you have to think about these things.

I believe God did come and hang out with humanity in the Person of Jesus Christ, but it was not His goal to remain physically in this fallen world, but to deliver us from it. His visit and time on earth accomplished all that He intended to make it possible for anyone to be rescued from their present sinful condition and the fallen state of this world to spend with eternity in a better place with Him.

He doesn't like to hang with us because He thinks we are boring and that we wouldn't understand where He is coming from and we don't smoke the cigarettes He likes and we don't listen to the obscure music He likes and we ran out of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

God is the ultimate hipster. That's why He won't hang with us.

Because when god came knocking on your door, you wouldnt believe it was god who came :)

Don't be silly.
God wouldn't knock the door.
Plus, he would be immune to bullets. So that's how we would know who he is.

Can't he visit all families at the same time?
Problem solved.

A God could and would make his existence clearly known to all, especially if there is such a thing as a mortal sin. He does not do this because he don't exist. That's the long and short of it.

immune to bullets? are you sure you wouldnt be calling him superman or alien or even devil in that case?
Why wouldnt he knock on your door? since when humanity is sleeping with open doors in their houses?

God would no more socialize with mere humans than a cook would with the vermin infesting his kitchen.

Are 'god' and these terms mutually exclusive?

I dont know you tell me. My point in my first post was that people wouldnt recognize it if god were to visit them. If a bullet proof being what you think might be superman, alien or devil were to visit you, would you call either of those as a visit from 'god'?

Teleport is so much easier.

I was indicating that god is inherently respectful to human will and preferences with the door analogy.

Sure.

Respectful to human will and preferences? Not really.
He is well known by his old habit of ignoring invitations.
