I'm not jumping to any conclusion. I'm not the first to suggest John of Patmos was high when he wrote Revelations. The isle of Patmos has a large number of shoreline caves where fly amanita (a strong hallucinogen) grows wild on the ground. Even if you assume he didn't take drugs and just had a dream; who's to say there's any truth to the dream? There are a million nutjobs that claim God is talking to them and the world is going to end even today. Nobody is expected to believe them. What makes the writer of Revelations any different?
The possibility of World's end is real. And I think your last question is a rhetorical one, yes?

What makes the writer of revelation different than other nutjobs? I can see the world like he saw it. What he said is coming true. Can he and I be imagining it? Of course! How can I believe you imagine wrongly about anything but I am right? It's wrong. Can't have your cake and eat it to. Can't sleep.

I know one! The age of fossils is determined by the strata they occupy but the age of strata is determined by the fossils found there. That's the best I got. Sometimes circular reasoning is not so clear.
How do I figure the words in Revelation are coming true? I can see it. How? I have been told only The Holy Spirit knows. If I know too and that is true, then how is by Holy Spirit. I cannot see circular there. You asked "how?" Is how what you meant?
Some of the Ten Commandments are warnings against acts that are obviously wrong. It is tough to get away with murder. Thieving and adultery ruin lives. Do the commandments exist to avoid ruin? I think so.

People do not care anymore what "taking the Name of YHVH in vain" means. They do not care to let the Earth rest. Some people even blame their love for God for lying. They lie for the greater good. There is even a name for it. "Theocratic Warfare".

What specifically can you see coming true?
"Harm no one" is subjective imo. In other words you might believe you are harming no one, but you are. Do you believe it is possible to do someone harm without intent? Not including accidents, of course. By the manner in which you choose to live can you cause harm?

I can see them gathering to Armageddon. I can see the great crowd. I can see the characters warned about in the letters to the seven congregations. I think I can see more, but it is 3:37 am here and I think I will try to sleep.
