Hello, Im a Witch

Hi. Before I start, I must blame everything on Royal Falcon of God, because he told me to do this. lol

I am a Witch, which is different than a Wiccan. I have been practicing for 7 years now, and have learned quite a lot in a short amount of time. Im looking forward to learning about different religions here, and meeting good people.

I have no children, I am young, I have a small brother, and I have a large dog. I am super interesting in religious philosophies and the ideology of people, not just faiths. I know about herbalism, divination, pagan stuff in general, animal husbandry and medical care. I will be getting a bachelors in Pre-Vet and Business Management, with the minor in Theology. Yes, I am taking two majors. :D

Um... anything else, just ask! I love questions :3

Welcome! We do not have too many pagans on the forums, so you can probably help out in bringing another perspective on traditional Abrahamic and Dharmic ideas of religion... ^__^

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for all the hospitality! :rainbow1: Falcon, you are such a whoot. You should ready Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Wicked Years) by Gregory Maguire.

ninerbuff, I do, when I do rituals by myself.

To me, the difference between a Witch and a Wiccan are mostly the theology. Wiccans believe and follow the Rede ("An it harm none, do as thou wilt."), but I believe that a witch that cannot harm cannot heal either. I believe that I should not deny myself any option, but that doesnt mean I condone magicks against others. I also believe in actions and consequences over Karma. I believe in the balance of Light and Dark as forces, and do not lean to one side or another, tending to be amoral most of the time.

Some other differences; I dont really pray to my Gods. I speak with Them, I am there when They need me, and I only ask for Their help when I cannot do things by myself.

Mostly, Ive just stepped away from the "Light Always" philosophy that most Wiccans tend to have. I still care about the environment, I still believe in the ultimate development of ones self, and the betterment of of the world around me. I worship nature, I "believe" in many Gods (but thats a different story), and I try to be a decent person by accepting the responsibility of my actions, no matter if they were conscious or not.

Merry Meet :)

Being that Pagans tend to be difficult to find unless you're in the right place, I'm glad another has joined the ranks of RF :)

Also, being that Pagans tend to all have different definitions of "Pagan," I'm interested to see your take on the Divine and what you will contribute to the community.

High five!

I'm always giving wiccans crap about perverting the law. ;)

Although research has led me to consider that Crowley's "do what thou wilt, shall be the extent of the law" derives from Augustine. The way I have always felt about it, "an harm none" is redundancy. Use of power for any purpose risks harm.

I'm a prophet, and that's actually a form of witchcraft. Welcome to the funhouse. ;)
