I've never once in my life done that, and I was raised catholic for 17 years...

Don't be silly. To Catholics, the Saints are as real and present as their Aunt Martha who, in times of need, they will say, "Aunt Martha, will you pray for me?" Indeed, the Catholics at least live out their beliefs in that they still engage in open conversation (albeit unidirectional) with those who have died whereas Protestants feel that this is somehow wrong.
There is a vast difference between carving a golden calf and worshiping it and praying to the saints.
Afterthought: The requirements for being a Saint mainly include being constantly harassed by society at large and eventually being martyred along with a few miracles happening. The rewards for being designated a Saint are an eternity of being harassed by society at large and having to listen to everyone’s problems whether you want to or not. It’s questionable whether any who has made it to that list really feels that it is an honor.

In Latin American countries and such the Catholics there kneel before images of Mary and Jesus and such.
now the bible's commandments acording to God according to Moses. one of them is not to make images of God. so i guess its not biblical. however, people are comforted by doing such things and i guess the Catholic church thinks its better to have them be bad Jews than good pagans. i dont think Jesus ever mentioned images in new testiment and Jesus made a new commandent while deleting about halve so im not too sure the Christian God cares about images anymore.

Amazing how my sapient response merits no comment from the author of this thread. Perhaps it was not inflammatory enough? Well, then, try this: If this really bothers you, why don't you walk into your local Catholic parish and ask someone why they do what they do before you start asking fatuous questions on a forum of believers of many different faiths? Or, how about this, why not Google the question?
Point is, the answer is simple to obtain with even a minimal amount of effort.
