It is human nature to desire some sort of conflict. After all, our recreations all feature conflict of some sort, whether in stories, sports, or games.
Even if we stop killing each other over God-concepts (or lack thereof), we'll start killing each other over something else. It's just who we are. In my opinion, we need to come to grips with THAT before we can have "peace."
Well your last line is a contradiction I think to the rest of your post.
Some of our games are violent and that's maybe a way some people get rid or their aggression. But most of us don't want to war with our neighbour except in the usual arguing sense.
Wars were fought in the past which were nothing to do with religion I know, but that was in the days of empire and expantion. That doesn't really hold for today. Why aren't I fighting, or my neighbours, or my town. We are living together in harmony. It happens everywhere. Wars are limited to certain areas and conflicts. These can be resolved but only after some major changes. Maybe even a completely new world order.
I believe a 'one' world is drastic but a possibility. Anyway that's getting a bit ahead of things. But I don't see how getting to grips with being natural born killers will result in peace?
