Atheists - If You Could Believe In Any God Which Would It Be?

The one my mom believes in.

That one lets everyone into heaven, even if they don't believe in him/her/it. (as long as they aren't a rapist, child-molestor, murderer, or something like that.) She claims to believe in some sort of god and says that I will get to go to heaven because I'm not a bad person, even though I'm an atheist, but she sometimes acts like she isn't sure if she believes in god at all.

one that doesn't punish people with violence, tell me what to eat,or wear,or have to get on my knees and worship, all these things deter me from believing in something that can create the universe but not let me eat shrimp etc.

a benevolent one not an overlord.

Hmmmmm, intersting question!

A God that presents himself to you, and tells you not to worship him, to question what he says, to be independent and to help out your fellow Human.

I think we need to be clear here. When you put "God" (with a capital "G") I don't think talking about "more than one" is helpful; either the description is correct or incorrect when it comes to "God."

Now when it comes to "Big brother in the sky" (my pet name for "gods" little "g") might as well go buck-wild right? Anubis sounds like a cool "big brother." Tough but fair, dark and underworldly (whatever it's a word now), jackal-headed, good judge... You can definitely do worse as far as big brothers go.

Amida is no God but if it was possible to take out all the "interconenction, Dukkha, Karma, Rebirth and such from Amida Shin Buddhism then maybe I would chose Amida as a god cause Amida is supposed to care about every being and that seems a good thing but maybe it is not possible so I have no god that I can accept.

If I had a god... I don´t know. But it would not be wrathful god, or a god that demands worship. It would have to be a good and understanding god.
