Is God a Woman?

Do you didn't. If you did, then point me to the post where you did.

You say the holy ghost did it. Well, then, is the holy ghost god's magic penis or something? You did say the holy ghost "came upon her" right?
*wonders if thread should be moved to the sex forum*

You're mistaken.

Whatever:rolleyes:

Look, Sandy, you were the one who was saying that Jesus needed a "full genetic complement". Now, that means DNA. We all know that half of a persons genes come from each parent. In order for that to apply to Jesus as well that would mean that his father had DNA. Which would also mean that god was a physical being of some kind that impregnated Mary.

I honestly don't know why you choose to interpret the scripture in the odd way you have. As I said before it makes SO MUCH MORE sense to take it as meaning Jesus' spirit was a part of god itself. Thus making Jesus both god and "son of god" at the same time. IT MAKES MORE SENSE to actually take the scripture this way than to insist that god literally impregnated Mary. :areyoucra I suppose you believe the sun revolves around the earth and even stopped in the sky one time as well huh? This is the ditch that literalists dig for themselves.

I didn't make this up.

From: Jesus Christ
"The method Jesus chose to arrive upon earth enabled Him to indwell a specially prepared human body that escaped the fallen sin nature inherent in every human being. The sin nature became firmly rooted in mankind when our divinely created forefather, namely Adam, disobeyed God and took of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden."

I have heard of this view, but I have never really understood it. Is there anyone that believes that God is a woman that can explain the rationale behind this belief?

OK...

every cell in your body, must give a portion of itself for the next generation of cells to live.

A contributing cell (life/women) is the first living structure.

does that help?

I doubt it will help Draka, see seems to just want to be contentious.
But my point in all of this is that Jesus constitutes two halves, Mary and God the Father. The reason for bringing this up is that God, therefore, takes on the male role of a father denying His being a woman which was the original question of the post.

How that post is supposed to have anything to do with what we are discussing I have no idea. And I'm not trying to be contentious, I'm just trying to be logical and rational here...two things you seem greatly lacking in.

Like I said before, you are basing god being male on your belief that Jesus was the son of god and that Jesus was given birth to by a woman. That is simply ridiculous as everyone is given birth to by a woman. In order to be a human being you are born of a woman. Now, either she was impregnated by Joseph or was magically implanted with magic DNA which seems to be what you believe. If god is omnipotent then why is it hard to believe that god, with no gender or either gender, could create that magic DNA? WHY would it make god male simply because Mary was female. That's just stupid reasoning.

Done here.
The God of the Bible is represented as a male.
There are a few places where feminine imagery is used, but in general there's no doubt the God of Abraham is represented a male. If Jesus is God, then at least one person of the Trinity is actually male.

I'll trust my own reading of the Old English
That's not Old English. This is Old English:

Ond cwæð, Uton wyrcan man to anlicnysse ond to ure gelicnysse, ond he sy ofer ða fixas ond ofer ða fugelas ond ofer ða deor ond ofer ealle gesceafta ond ofer ealle creopende, ðe styriað on eorðan.

that be kind of far reaching: almost cartoonish

It is like Matthew sharing Josephs lineage to David (to meet prophecy) but then says Joseph never knew her.

The reason for bringing this up is that God, therefore, takes on the male role of a father denying His being a woman which was the original question of the post.

Now look over history; which side is the most compassionate?

If i had a choice (which in this case is moot) then be certain it would not be the trigger happy side.

Think in reality....... Existence as a whole could be the described HE/She.

Then think about energy......... battery must have 2 poles to make a difference (potential). The unit as a whole is what makes it work. Just as women don't make babies without the other half contributing.

So common sense would share 'u-know-who' as being both at the same time..... remember to the theologies, they not supposed to place a description (so a beeeeeeep sounds for that error).

to the alternate team, it can be good to see both sides of the total as 'it' reveals itself within all things (biased/or un)

look around; not a thing you see/be that is not of........ existence itself.

We just here describing as bits of it, experiencing life!

You are right, I should have said King James English.

A person has both a mother and father. Mary was the mother of Jesus and God was His Father. Can I make it any simpler for you?
