Did they campaign on liberalism / libertarianism? And millions of people believed in Hitler, Franco, Mussolini, Trump, Bolsonaro, etc.
No.
Your comparison is bogus.

He's likely relieved.I'm done.

In my studies on the matter of populism and fascism, I learned that populists simply cannot be trusted, however it sometimes takes several years for the truth to be realized by the masses. Already Milei has been attacking and threatening the press, and that should be an ample enough warning of what yet may come down the pike.
It's slightly offensive that one likens our Duce to this person.Did they campaign on liberalism / libertarianism?

I very much agree with you, but Milei's attack on the press and his threat to go after them is what fascists and Marxists traditionally have done. I don't think he's likely the latter, but he's making "sounds" like the former.Latin America is rather tricky on this aspect because, no matter if left-wing or right-wing, being a populist is almost a basic requirement to get elected as the president. Peronism has been the main political power in Argentina for decades and it is populist (and left-wing) . The Worker's Party (left-wing) in Brazil has won almost all presidential elections since 2002 and it is populist, only defeated once by another populist, Bolsonaro.

Think the country was desperate. Inflation was a double figures.A chocolate bar price could double in 3 months.I don't follow politics anymore from anarchist news sources so I can't give my take on the recent presidential election in Argentina in depth.
But I do know that I enjoyed watching ABC News anchor force the words "Anarcho Capitalist" out of her mouth when describing the winner of the Presidential election in Argentina. Of course, "Anarcho Capitalist" was mixed in with a sentence painting him as an absolute loon. "More extreme than Trump!" the news people said. He gets his economic advice from his dead dogs ghosts!
I do not know if he is a loon or not, but I do know that a president openly touting anarcho-capitalism is going to suffer from character assassination from the various states and their propaganda machines.
I made this thread but I'm not really asking for your thoughts on the guy. Feel free to share though of course. Just, the reason I'm not asking is because I know you guys get your news from "trusted" news sources and not "conspiracy" ones, plus y'all a bunch of socialists to top it off, so I already know you think the guy is just another Trump.
To be fair I don't know squat about the guy. Is he really an anarchist? Idk, but I'm excited to see what he will do!
