What I said is tongue in cheek, but it is also
not without meaning.
One way of looking at what is or is not highly
evolved would be how far a species has moved
along a line diverging from the ancestral form.
If we had living examples of Home erectus,
it would be tremendously interesting to see
if they are as intelligent as we are today.
"Lucy", for sure, was not.
But back to erectus. Behold the massive brow
ridge, among other primitive features.
Is in unscientific to say that modern man is
more evolved than erectus?
Or lets look at non human creatures.
A coelacanth is a primitive fish. The
trout is too, but less primitive.
If someone wants to argue with that,
let them go back to school.
