A simple answer for simple minded folks.

Simple and narrow mindedness is the key to eternal life.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Exactly... one must keep that mind NARROWED. If you make the mistake of actually opening that mind up you'll see how ridiculous all of the religious claims are. Keep that mind so narrow that it's practically closed. You wouldn't want any logic or rational thought to get in.
