LMAO, I fixed it as best as I could... still can't get the damn "]" hanging off the end of one of the words to go away... but I deleted the other 2 posts that were even worse than that one.
In response to your actual questions: Yes, I do magic. Not as often as I used to, but every Sabbat I celebrate with my family includes spellworking in an attempt to communicate with the Powers That Be and generally to affect the world for the better. There are many different levels of doing magic, and not all are complicated. Don't worry if you can't find magicworking tools... most tools and other "ingredients" in a ritual are to help you focus your energy, and are not necessary to the fulfilment of the spell. As for levels of complication... well, they vary from the very simple, to, yes, the very complicated. Your simple desire to have something happen is magic, and may have results simply based on that desire. A prayer or other form of active meditation designed to achieve something is magic. A simple or complex spell (whether candle lighting, reciting words, making a potion, or a combination of the above) is magic, as is a full blown ritual.
You need not be initiated into a coven or spiritual pathway to be able to work magic. However, it might be recommended, simply because within a coven or by studying a particular spiritual pathway, you will probably be introduced to techniques of magicworking and the ethics thereof. For example, if you joined a Wiccan coven you'd be introduced to the concept of "And it harm none, do what you will"... meaning that thoughts and actions that harm others should be avoided. Everything you do has effects on the physical and spiritual level. As a result, simply wishing someone ill is magic... and it is the kind of magic that most pagans will recommend you avoid. However, without studying with a particular path, you may not be introduced to ideas such as this if you simply decided to make up a spell and perform it to achieve a desired end. Also, within a particular path you'd be introduced to techniques of achieving magical ends (such as building a circle) and the WHY behind it (in this case, to contain the energy you create and prevent other energies to interfere with your spell.)
There are many God and Goddess stories. The one I am most familiar with is this: "In the beginning there was She. She was All and All was She. She was the Creator. She was alone and wanted to be so no longer. She, the Mother of All, created life out of herself. She created Him.
He was born to Her and grew strong. She, the Creator, recovered easily from the birth and also grew strong.
He who came from the Mother of All was maturing.
He who was Her Son became Her Lover and Consort. She became with child.
He who was Her Consort reached the peak of his power.
He who was her Lover grew older.
His time was over and He who was Her Son and Consort died.
She who was the Creator was again alone. But She was with Child and He who was Her Son would be born again.
And the circle continues..."
