So what solution is realistic?
Practical things for Israel to....
- End apartheid.
- End settler violence & land theft.
- A truth & reconciliation process.
- End imprisonment without a trial.
- End torture.
- End the economic oppression of Gaza.

Of course, those measures became far far
more difficult to implement in 2023. But
continuing the same old same old,
followed by genocide bodes far worse
consequences.

So what solution is realistic?
A realistic solution needs to place responsibility on the powerful - Israel, The United States, Arab neighbouring powers and then Palestinian militant groups. The secondary factor being the International Community which places pressure broadly on the above.

It is not the general Palestinian public which is the barrier to peace here - they are too busy trying to survive the day to day. At this point them doing anything to subdue Hamas is entirely unfeasible even if they did find it desirable. You don't take down a cartel-style operation with state-backers from a place of powerlessness without organization in the short term.
