Recently I was browsing the Internet about the evidence of existence of Giant human beings in the past and found out that there were some stories about their remains being found were published regularly until about 1950s in New York Times and Washington Post. Post 1950 , they started self-filtering these news because it contradicts with Theory of Evolution. Please discuss and share your knowledge.

Here is one of the links:

    Evolution to be false?

Its already been proven, so how do you disprove it?

So if there were "Giant human beings in the past" they either evolved that way or had a medical disorder. We have giants now due to medical disorders.

Would like to see a link or two regarding what you looking at?

    Lovelock Caves – Lovelock, Nevada

Lovelock Caves – Lovelock, Nevada | Nevada Tourism

Looks like they were 5 to 8 feet, that would be in range.

We know humans go back in north america to around 13,000 years. One of the many reasons there was no global flood.

The hobbits are pretty well documented here and they are still studying them, along with many other earrly hominids.

There have been hoaxes as well of people creating giant skeletons.

creationism seems to be based on religious books, which I've more or less rejected, and evolution is a theory that I don't fully understand. Maybe if I fully understand evolution I might leave the fence, but right now it's quite comfy. Plus I'm not to bothered as to which is correct.

That is the question I have for the evolution experts. I am under impression that evolution stipulates that there is a single source of all the life and it is not possible for the giants to exist.

Shawn001, can you let us know if this statement is true?

The theory of evolution isn't really about how life started in the first place on earth. Its how life evolved over billions of years to what it is today. That is a done deal, but other details about it are still being researched.

"there is a single source of all the life"

which is another field of study called "Abiogenesis"

Abiogenesis (pronounced /ˌeɪbaɪ.ɵˈdʒɛnɨsɪs/ AY-by-oh-JEN-ə-siss) or biopoiesis is the study of how biological life could arise from inorganic matter through natural processes. In particular, the term usually refers to the processes by which life on Earth may have arisen.

Abiogenesis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One of the earliest fossils on earth are cynobacteria that evolved photosynthesis which created the oxygen atmophere we have today.

Cosmology although not directly part of Evolution or Abiogenesis supports them with nucleosynthesis, which is where the heavy elements come from in early super nova star explosions which seed the universe with the elemtns like carbon. We are carbon based life forms. Carbon is created by a stars

A star's energy comes from the combining of light elements into heavier elements in a process known as fusion, or "nuclear burning"

For instance, fusing carbon requires a temperature of about one billion degrees! Most of the heavy elements, from oxygen up through iron, are thought to be produced in stars that contain at least ten times as much matter as our Sun.

    NASA's Cosmicopia - Basics - Composition - Nucleosynthesis

So even our solar system and humans and all the planets are made from recycled material that came from earlier super nova explosions. We can see this process now with our different telescopes. We can measure even the elements coming from them.

Life could have come from space, from mars or from processes on earth, all of which have the ingredients for life already. We don't know however enough yet about where it came from or where it started. We do know complex life forms or any life for that matter was not possible on earth when the sun first ignited the planets were created. We also know the earth is 4.57 billion years old and some of the oldest fossil on it are 3.8 billion of signle cells, which went on for a long time, before more complex ones evolved.

As well as there have been five mass extintion events on earth and one of them the Permian Mass Extinction killed 95% of all life on earth and it evolved back, there was a whole other huge body of aniamls before the dinosaurs, that extition lead to the rise of the dinosaurs and the dinosaurs extintion lead to the rise of mammals and then to us.

    Question for Evolutionists:
Just wondering if there is a timeline of human size in last 10 million years in evolutional set up?

Umm the part about no giants is false. Why couldn't their be giants? Besides evolution would have multiple types vieying to survive and one time. Giants and hobits lost to us.

This is new from 2012. Part of it all is where life might have come from on earth, deep ocean vents, volcanic mud ponds and others.

    But

Life on Earth Began on Land, Not in Sea?

First cells likely arose in steamy mud pots, study suggests.

Life on Earth Began on Land, Not in Sea?

One researcher has shown how the first cell walls could have easily formed to hold in it the dna as well.

So , you are stipulating that bacteria converted to humans according to Evolution Theory?

Evolution wouldn't rule out giants. There have been many animal giants on earth in the past.

However, some issues like gravity and fuel sources for a large body and brain would play a role in giant humans evolution and what adavantages or disadvantages it might be to evolve that way in the first place.

Human disorders certainly play a role in creating big humans for sure.

They would also have to have some link to us somewhere in the distant past to be humans or another branch of a homind speicies.

I also know that in the distant past as I live in Oregon, that Indians tribes here thousands of years ago found and mated with people with red hair of European decent of normal size.

Again evolution isn't about the "how it started" only how its changed. Which is now fact and theory.

The "how it started and from what" is another theory.

But basically yes all life forms came from a single cell on earth and became complex life forms, which is what we see and supported in all the sciences.

We know viruses played a role, which don't fit the really dead or alive in the reality.

"1 Viruses are not alive: They do not have cells, they cannot turn food into energy, and without a host they are just inert packets of chemicals.
2 Viruses are not exactly dead, either: They have genes, they reproduce, and they evolve through natural selection."

In fact, scratch the whole concept of “us versus them.” Half of all human DNA originally came from viruses, which infected and embedded themselves in our ancestors’ egg and sperm cells.

20 Things You Didn't Know About... Viruses | Living World | DISCOVER Magazine

You can't really say a specific bacteria, just single cell. But again, evolution is not about how it started, just about the changes since it started.

An anology is how the universe started. The big bang theory is that it was very hot and very dence in the distant past. This we know is a fact, as we can observe it, but not about the singularity or what may have started it all in the first place.

    This is pretty giant

"the Tallest verified human being: Height: 8 ft 11.1 in"

But not in the bibilical sense, no.

And from where our ancestor's egg and sperm came from? We have five senses , but bacterias have just one sense. How can a five sensed Being possibley evolve from a one sensed Being?
