I am an unusual bhakta then, because I care very much about my future. I want to survive and have a very long life which is why I gave up smoking and only drink alcohol if the occasion demands it. My father was a devote of Sri Krishna and wanted to have a very long life so he could achieve things so he had a pacemaker put into his heart. So I do not know where you got the idea that Prapatti means not caring about the future.
But I am not concerned whether God is thinking of me as being his greatest devotee: I just aim to survive.
Do you have any spiritual goal, besides mere survival?
Yes I do: Survival with dignity.
I thought this thread was about two schools of Yoga, about spiritual development.
To survive with dignity you need to perform yoga and specific spiritual development in the pursuit of truth and justice.
My cat survives with dignity. I've never seen her in a downward dog pose.
Dignity for a human being is infallability in thoughts and action.

What kind of dignity does the Pope have in reading the Bible and teaching its contents to billions of people?
