I would suggest checking out Zhou Dunyi's "Explanation of the Diagram of the Supreme Ultimate" for some cosmology, (even though he's Neoconfucian.)

Simple mindedness is considered the height of wisdom in daoism.
No it doesn't...
70 Therefore the sage wears plain clothes but holds jade

39 Do not wish to be shiny like jade
Be dull like rocks
Thus though you appear like a puddle; you're as deep as an ocean.
A clear mind is useful as it has space; yet empty headed (simple mindedness), implies just ignorance. ;)
except that its not. Stop viewing things through a monotheistic lens.
Tried many different lens, and seeing which fits the best, within the context of what is written.
If there was no reality and things were formless, would the Dao be there, or Chaos?
According to many traditions, there was Chaos before Dao; Dao appears as the reality was made manifest, thus by what? Is still the question....
I believe you cannot speak of the Tao as if it were something to be found, any more than you can say when walking in the forest, that you have found the forest.
If you walk through a virtual reality forest, and recognize the quality of the codeing; then clearly you (Lao Tzu) found something, by recognizing it is virtual reality to begin with. :innocent:

Wuji precedes Taiji. It starts with wuji having vibration and rest.
