The Passover

The passover is from sunset to sunset. So after Jesus was led away, the passover continued till sunset the next day. The passover culminated with Christ's crucifixion. Passover ended the very hour Christ died. Passover is symbolic of Jehovah delivering the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. That was a physical deliverence. On the cross He was delivering from the bondage of sin. The crucifixion on the cross was the atonement for their spiritual deliverence and the resy of humanity's deliverence from spiritual death {seperation from God} as a result of offenses against God. It offers forgiveness.

"As soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together and led Him into their..."

Mark 15:1
"And straightway in the morning the chief priests held council and bound Jesus and carried Him away and delivered Him to Pilot.

In Luke 22:70 and Matthew 26:63 The Sanhedrin ask if He is the son of God.
"Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God?"
In Mark the sanhedrin ask "Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"
I guess that's another name to call God.
In response to the question of whether He is the Son of God, Jesus says in both Matthew 26:64 and Luke 22:69 that
"Here after shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God."
In Mark 14:62 when asked
"Art thou the Christ, the Son of the blessed?"
Jesus answered
And Jesus said, I am" He adds "and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the righ t hand of power..."
Probably on the judgement day.

When Jesus stood before the governor He was aksed "Art thou the King of the Jews?"
That was a different question. He wasn't the king of the Jews yet but will be.

The answer to these questions, in sum, is Jeus is the Son of God, the blessed.
Jesus is the Messiah and will be the King.

Acts 1:18
"Now this man {Judas} purchased a field with the reward of iniquity and falling headlong..." The chief priests bought the field with Judas' money that he threw down in the Temple. He hanged himself and fell headlong. It's possible that whatever he used to hang himself didn't support him and he fell head down.

"Pilot therefore said unto Him, art thou a king? Jesus answered and said, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born and for this cause came I into the world that I should bear witness unto truth."

Matthew 27:11-14
"And Jesus stood before the governor and the governor asked Him, art thou a king of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. And when He was accused of the chief priests and elders. He answered nothing. Then said Pilot unto Him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? He {Jesus} answered not a word."

Jesus gave a reason to the sanhedrin why He didn't answer a question.
Luke 22:66-71 The Sanhedrin asked "Art thou Christ? Tell us. Jesus said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe." Another reason why He didn't defend Himself to others is because if He did the atonement wouldn't have happened.

Pilot realized there wasn't a just cause for punishing Jesus. Pilot realized that there wasn't a case against Jesus.

John 18
"He {Pilot} went out again unto the Jews and saith unto them, I find in hin no fault at all."

Mark 15:11
"the chief priests moved the people that he {Pilot} should rather rlease Barabbas unto them."

Matthew 27:20
"But the chief priests and elders persuaded the mulitude that they should ask Barabbas and destroy Jesus."
When the chief priests weren't able to persuade the people, the elders tried to persuad. after the chief priests and elders persuaded the people, "they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man and release unto us Barabbas."

Luke 23:18 Earlier Pilot said in verse 14
"I {Pilot} having examined Him {jesus} before you, have found no fault in this man touching tgose things whereof ye accuse Him. No, nor yet Herod."
They {Pilot and Herod} hadn't reason to accuse Jesus.

Matthew 27:24
"When Pilot saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude saying, I am innoscent of the blood of this jus person, see ye to it."

It's also possible that Jesus bore His cross part way. After awhile He may have been too weak to walk the rest of the way because He had been deprived of sleep and food and had been beaten and whipped.

John 19:19
"Pilot wrote a title and put it on the cross and the writing was, Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. This title then read many of the Jews for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh {near} to the city and it was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin."

The proper translation of Matthew 27:37 is
"Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews"

I started this project of investigating so called "bible inconsistencies" about a month ago and I finally finished it so now I can post my findings.

Wow, a whole month!

I am glad that you have worked things out to your satisfaction. But there are people who have spent years/decades studying these scriptures and still find inconsistencies. Might it not be possible that things are a little more complex than you have painted them?

"One of the thieves also, which were crucified with Him, cast the same in His teeth. But the other rebuked him saying, Dost thou not fear God seeing thou art under condemnation and this man is just and hath not sinned and he cried unto the Lord that He would save him."

"And all His acquaintance and the women that followed Him from Galilee stood afar off, beholding these things."

"And many women were there beholding afar off which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering Him."
Verse 56

Luke 23:49 and Matthew 27:55 when the women stood afar was after. He received the vinegar and He bowed His head and died. They, the women realized that Jesus was dead and probably walked away.

Verse 51 The veil of the Temple was rent from top to bottom and the earth did quake and the rocks rent. They feared greatly, saying "Truly this was the Son of God."

"Now the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God saying, Certainly this was a righteous man."
When the earthquake happened the women probably turned and looking to see what caused it."

Mark 15:23 was not the only time vinegar is offered for Him to drink when He is thirsty. The correct translation of Mark 15:23 is
"And they gave Him to drink vinegar mingled with gall and when He had tasted the vinegar, He would not drink."

The other instance was Mark 15:36
"And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar and put it on a reed and gave Him to drink, saying... Let us see whether Elias will come to take Him down."

John 19:30
"When Jesus therefore reived the vinegar, He said, It is finished."

Luke 23:46
"And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice {It is finished}, He said, Father, into thy hands, I commend My spirit, and having said thus, He gave up the ghost {His spirit left His body}."

It also shows the purpose of the atonement, FORGIVENESS.

Matthew 27:62-66
"Now the next day that follwed, the day of preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilot, saying, Sir, we remember that {Jesus} said, while He was yet alive. After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away and say unto the people He has risen from the dead. Pilat said unto them, Ye have a watch, go your way, make it as sure as you can. So they went and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone and setting a watch {guard}"

Matthew 28:2
"There was a great earthquake for the angel from heaven of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door."
Verse 4
"For fear of him {angel}, the keepers {watch} did shake and became as dead men."
Verses 11-15
"Now when they were going, some of the watch came into the city and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done {the earthquake and angel{. And when they were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a large sum of money unto the soldiers, saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we slept. So they took the money and did as they were taught and this saying is commonly reported among Jews until this day."
The soldiers were afraid and so fled from the tomb area. {Mark 16:8}
That is why when both Marys brought sweet spices that they might anoint Him, they said in verse 3 "Who shall roll the stone away from the door of the sepulchre?, because they didn't see guards there.
Verse 4
"And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away, for it was very great."
After the angel moved the stone away, the soldiers fled.

John 19:38-42 verses 40-42
"Then they took the body of Jesus and wound it in linen clothes with the spices as the manner of the Jews to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus... for the sepulchre was nigh at hand."
They laid His body in the sepulchre before the soldiers were placed on watch.

The question posed by "Mr. Inconsistencies" that I'm addressing is, How was there a guard if the women were planning to enter the tomb? If guards had been there, they could ask them to roll away the stone but since the stone was already rolled away, it wasn't necessary. It's the same reasoning with Mark 16:1-3

Matthew 28:1

Mark 16:1-2
"when Sabbath Day was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome had brought spices that they might come and anoint Him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun."
By this time, Salome joined them. As the day progressed another came.

Luke 23:55 and 24:1,10 {Joanna} verse 53 tells the time frame
"And he took the {body}down and wrapped it in linen and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid."
Verse 55
"And the woman also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after and beheld the sepulchre and how His body was laid."
They were seeing His body placed in the sepulchre.

Luke 24:1,10
"Early in the morning {after His body was laid the night before} they came unto the sepulcjre bringing the spices which they had prepared and certain others with the."

Matthew 28:1-2 verse 2
"There was a great earthquake for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and rolled back the stone."
Both Marys witnessed the angel rolling away the stone.

"Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark {came} unto the sepulchre and after the other Mary had joined her, they witnessed the stone being rolled away. John {the recorder} fast forwarded to that event in his record.

Mark 16:5 At the time Salome arrived there was only one angel there. The other angel hadn't arrived yet.
"And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long, white garment..."
Verse 6
"He saith unto them, Be not affrighted, ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was cricified, He is risen."
Verse 7
"Go you way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goeth before you into Galilee, there shall ye see Him as He said unto you."

John 20:12
"And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain."
Earlier in this chapter verse 6-7
"Then cometh Simon Peter following him {John} and went into the sepulchre and seeth the linen clothes {renaned shroud of Turin}. And the napkin that was about His head..."
The two angels were there probably to guard the linen clothes that contained the image of Christ on it, what I have called a photograph of the resurrection, and to announce His resurrection to those that would arrive at the tomb.

The image on the Shroud is like a photographic negative burned into the cloth by a supernatural process, a photograph of the resurrection. Scientific studies have evidence that the shroud's image was not man made. This was important to protect.

Peter or John took the shroud with them. If the body had been removed by anybody,
they wouldn't unwrap the linen. This is another indication of the resurrection.

Luke 24:2-4 verse 4
"And it came to pass as they were much perplexed...behold two men stood by them in shining garments. They were standing at the time the others arrived and said to them
Verse 5
"Why seek ye the living among the dead?"
Verse 6
"He is not here but is risen, remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee."
Verse 7
"Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and the third day rise again."

Matthew 28:8 After the angel rolled back the stone and the guards fled and the angel said to tell the disciples that He is risen, in verse 8, they departed quickly...
"They departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and joy {astonishment} and did run to bring His disciples word."

Mark 16:8
"And they went out quickly and fled from the sepulchre for they trembled and were amazed, neither said they anything to any man for they were afraid." They didn't say anything to any man as they quickly fled. Although the angel had instructed them to tell the disciples as in Matthew, perhapps they were afraid.

John 20:1-2
"They have taken the Lord away out of the sepulchre."
They probably didn't think the disciples would believe the latter so they said the former.

Matthew 28:6-8
"they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy."
Their feared may have been like the guards when they saw the angel descend to roll away the stone, they were witnessing the power of God. Their great joy was because His body had risen.

John 13:13-14 After she told the disciples what had happened, she returned with them.
"Then she runneth and cometh to simon Peter and to the other disciple {John} and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre."
She seems to lack the faith to believe the angel that she had seen that had told her in verse 6 of Matthew 28 "He is not here for He is risen as He said."

Afterwards Peter went forth with the other disciple, John, they ran to the sepulchre. Both John and Peter saw the linen clothes. After this and taking the linen clothes {shroud}, with them, they left but Mary stayed and wept. She looked into the sepulchre and this time saw two angels. They ask her a question in verse 13
"Why weepest thou?" She turned around and saw a person that she supposed was the gardener.

In verse 16
Jesus {who she thought was the gardener} said, "Mary" She turned around and saith unto Him, "Rabboni {Master}"

Appearances of Jesus

John 20:17
"Jesus saith unto her...go tell my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and to my God and your God."

Matthew 28:9
"And as they went to tell His disciples, Behold Jesus met them."
Verse 10
"Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid, go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee and there shall they see me."

Mark 16:9 has an appearance of Jesus that is either the first when she thought He was the gardener or the second when she was on the way to tell the disciples that she had seen Him.
"The first day of the week He appeared first to Mary Magdalene.

The first appearance of Jesus to Mary was at the tomb because if you think that a person is dead, although you see that person as a living person, you wouldn't think
it is the person that died. She wouldn't think that a person who has died would live again. So she thought the person must be another person. She thought He was a gardener, probably because she didn't know another reason why he would be there.

The second appearance was in Matthew 28:9-10 when Jesus met them on the way to tell the disciples they had seen Him. They already recognized Him then.

The third appearance was as Jesus had said would be in verse 10 of Matthew 28
He said "Go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee and there shall they see me." So in Luke 24:13-15 this happened.
"And behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus..."
Verse 14
"And they {disciples} talked together of all these things that had happened. And it came to pass that while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus drew Himself near and went with them. But their eyes were holden {restrained} or {not able to see, recognize} that they should know Him. And He said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad?"
Verse 19
"And they said unto Him concerning Jesus of Nazareth which was a prophet mighty indeed and word before God."
Verse 20
"And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death and have crucified Him."
Verse 21
"But we trusted that it had been He which should have redeemed Israel."

"Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished which were early at the sepulchre."

John 20:17 After the resurrection, when Mary met Jesus the first time, after she recognized Him
"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not for I am not yet ascended unto my Father but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your father and to my God and your God."

Matthew 28:9 By the second time that Mary met Jesus, He had already ascended and presented Himself to the father. Having finished His business with the Father, He descended to show Himself to the disciples in Emmaus. At this time the Lord thought it appropriate to allow Mary the right to touch His feet to prove that He was resurrected and that He has a pysical body.

Jesus Christ has a resurrected body of flesh and bone.

Matthew 28:9
"And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet and worshipped Him."

In John, Jesus wanted Thomas to feel His hand to know that He has a body of flesh and bone. John 20:27 "Then saith He to Thomas with them {the disciples}, Reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not faithless but believing."

Words that seemed as idle tales

Luke 24:11
"and their words seemed to them as idle tales and they believed them not."

Mark 16:11
"And they when they had heard that He was alive and had been seen of her, believed not."

However when she told them what He said in Matthew 28:10
"Then Jesus said unto them...go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee and there shall they see me."
They didn't believe that He was risen but they thought we'll see if there is any truth to it.

Matthew 28:16
"Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them."

After appearing to Mary twice, Jesus appeared to two disciples walking to Emmaus and Jesus appeared to all the disciples except Thomas {who happened to be absent} Luke 24:34-36

Those that saw Him walking in Emmaus said to the disciples in Jerusalem "The Lord is risen indeed and hath appeared to simon." "And they told what things were done in the way and how He was known of them in breaking bread. And as they thus spoke, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."

The next time Jesus appeared was eight days afterward when Thomas was present.
John 20:26
"And after eight days again His disciples were within and Thomas with them then came Jesus, the doors being shut and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you."

Jesus instructs His disciples to baptize.

Matthew 28:19 Jesus instructs the disciples to baptize.
"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost."

1 Corinthians 1:17
"For Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel."
Paul is saying that Jesus Christ sent him to teach all nations and then baptize if they accept. It wouldn't be wise to baptize before teaching the truths, the principles, the doctrines for those who just want to wash their sins away. Baptism does wash your sins away. It gives you a second chance to begin being good and to make a commitment to continue to be good. When mistakes are made to repent. Baptism is beginning again with a clean spirit.

In verse 11 he states
"For it hath been declared unto me of you...by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you."
That is why he said in verse 14 "I thank God that I baptized none of you."
If people aren't willing or ready to accept the gospel lifestyle and live in harmony with others and he baptized them, then he would be baptizing people that were creating contention amongst other baptized members. He would feel he plagued the saints with contention.

Next,
Mark's account of the man who was possessed with a demon who acknowledged Jesus was the son of God. Jesus Christ has more power than satan.
Try the spirits to know whether they be good.
Multiplying the loaves of bread and the fishes and walking on water.
Some people wanted to make Jesus king but His mission was to be a Messiah then and a king when he comes again.

Jesus Christ will come again in the clouds.

He will not just appear somewhere.
Any person claiming to be Christ isn't Christ if He isn't seen comming in the clouds to earth. Angels will announce Him and every eye shall see Him on that day. He will come in the clouds to be our king.

This effort wasn't to satisify myself. It was to address the issues on the list of inconsistencies, when one scripture seems to be saying the opposite of another.

Some people who have studied and not found explainations would think there were more inconsistencies then those who have studied and found explainations. It's not that inconsistencies increase as you study. It's the person's understanding that isn't increasing.

There are some people who wouldn't understand any scripture because they don't accept it as scripture, as truth. It's not how they think. There are those who understand the Old Testement but not the New for the same reason. It doesn't mean there are more inconsistencies in the New verses the Old, it's their level of understanding that is effected by their attitude towards it.

When reading other scriptures about a subject {for example} using a topical guide, the subjects become more defined. The explainations reveal themselves. Then it isn't guess work. That is why I use other scriptures to explain a subject. They explain themselves. That is what I have found.

The gospel is not complex when you apply already known truths. Jesus taught in mostly simple terms, using parables to relate to the common man, doing his daily tasks. Some authors in the New Testement wrote in a complex form of language that sometimes sounds like a tongue twister riddle. That is where the complexity is. It is in deciphering their use of language. The principles of the gospel are pure and simple.

I have repeatedly recommended prayer. Pray before and after scripture study.

The Council in Heaven

Mark 1:23-24
"And there was in the synagogue a man with a unclean spirit and he cried out saying, Let us alone, what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God."
Demons know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God because they are spirits in the spirit dimension. They see the spirit within and recognize whether spirits are good or weak or wicked. Some spirits are noble and have a special calling. Demons recognize their strength, their ability to oppose them!

Jesus was the most righteous spirit of all Heavenly father's spirit children and most loving. He volunteered to be the Messiah before the world was created. There was a counsel in heaven to appoint a Savior and He volunteered. He was most qualified.

All of us were there as spirits and accepted Him.

Demons were there too and Lucifer. They did not accept Him. Lucifer wanted to rule Heavenly father's Kingdom. He wanted to be king of this world but {lucifer} isn't righteous. He would rule by force, he would want to control us and this is sin.

When Heavnely father choose Jesus Christ to be our savior and our king, to govern with righteousness love, Lucifer rebelled against God and there was a war in heaven. Love is more powerful than evil. In that battle of minds, Lucifer lost and was cast out of heaven with his demons, those that followed him. They {Lucifer and his demons} were denied bodies so now they try to possess the bodies of humans if they can or try to influence our thinking, our minds.

Demons and Lucifer recognize who Jesus Christ really is because they were present at that counsil in heaven when Jesus Christ was chosen to be our savior.

1 John 4:1-2
"Beloved, BELIEVE NOT EVERY SPIRIT BUT TRY THE SPIRITS, test or discern whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God, every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God."
A spirit that is of God confesses with love that Jesus is the Christ to any person who would want to know. A demon would not confess to people that Jesus is the Christ because they lie to deceive but they wouldn't ;lie to god because they know God knows the truth so they acknowledge that Jesus is the Christ when speaking to God.

"King Herod heard of Him {Jesus, for His name was spread abroad} and he said that,
John the Baptist was risen from the dead and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in Him."
Herod heard of the miracles that Jesus was doing such as casting out demons and healing the sick. When Herod heard about Jesus the first time, he was perplexed
"But who is this of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see Him." After John the Baptist's death he desired to see him.

The multiplication of the loaves and fishes.

Mark 6:52
"For they {the disciples} considered not the miracle of the loaves, for their heart was hardened.
This was the miracle of feeding the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fishes.


Walking on water

Verse 49
"When they {the disciples} saw Him {Jesus} walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit and cried out."
Verse 50
"For they all saw Him and were troubled. And immediately He talked with them and saith unto them, Be of good cheer, It is I, be not afraid."
Verse 51
"And He went up onto them into the ship and the wind ceased and they were sour amazed in themselves beyong measure and wondered."
If they had considered the miracle Jesus performed, multiplying the five loaves of bread and two fishes enough to feed the five thousand, they wouldn't have wondered at His ability to walk on water. Jesus created this planet with natural laws but He can altar the design when He chooses.

John 6:14-15
"Then those men {that sat on the grass, part of the multitude, verse 10} when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world."
Verse 15
"When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force to make Him a king, He departed into a mountain..."
Jesus departed because it was not His appointed time to be king. The men that were witnesses to that miracle were impressed with the miracle but they wanted to make Jesus a king. Jesus knew His mission at that time was to be a Messiah before He is to be king.

Jesus ascended into heaven on the Mount of Olivet and that is where He will descend when He comes again.

"And there came Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes..." Then took they the body of Jesus and wound it in linen clothes with the spices as the manner of the Jews to bury."

Mark 16:1-2
"And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, the mother of James and Salome had brought sweet spices that they might anoint Him."
Nicodemus came by night to prepare the body for burial so they {the women} may not have known that this was already done or they may have wanted to add more sweet spices.

Mark 16:5
"And entering into the sepulchre they saw a youn man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment..."

Luke 24:3
"And they entered in {the sepulchre} and found not the body of Jesus."

John 20:1-2,11 John's account doesn't mention entering but Mark's and Luke's record does. After entering the sepulchre in Mark 16:5 and Luke 24:3, Mary left and brought the disciples. After they {the disciples} left, she remained, she stood by the sepulchre and just looked in.

Luke 24:50-51 verse 36
"And as they thus spake, Jesus, Himself, stood in the midst of them and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."
After showing them His hands and feet and after opening their understanding in the scriptures, he led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them
Verse 51
"While He blessed them, He parted from them and {was} carried up into heaven.

Mark 16:14-19 verse 14
"Afterward He appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat..."
After telling them "Go ye in all the world and preach the gospel" and giving signs that shall follow those that believe,
verse 19
"He was received up into Heaven and sat on the right hand of God."
Mark didn't record Jesus leading disciples to Bethany, where He was carried up into Heaven.

Jesus Christ had ascended after His resurrection to present Himself to the Father and then descended to appear to the disciples and to give them instructions before ascending the second time. T

Acts 19:12
"And when He had spoken, while they beheld, He was taken up and a cloud received Him..."
This was on Mount Olivet. This is where Jesus Christ will descend when He comes again.

"And it came to pass that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe {John the Baptist} leaped in her womb and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost."

Luke 1:67
"And his {John the Baptist} father, Zacharias, was filled with the Holy Ghost and prophesied saying {verse 68} "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for Hr {Jesus Christ} hath visited and redeemed His people."

Luke 2;25
"And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Ghost was upon him."

The Holy Ghost has been around since the beginning. The first mention of the Holy Ghost is in Genesis 1:2
"And the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

The Holy Ghost is essential to our understanding

The Holy Ghost is essential to our understanding of God. The Holy Spirit can help us understand each other, other languages, help us teach others and help us love others.
Love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy spirit reveals Truth

The Holy Spirit reveals the word of God in the scriptures and how to undrrstand it, how to interpret it. The Holy Spirit is like a magnifying glass that magnifies the truth as we read the scriptures.
"And by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may know the truth of all things."
Moroni 10:5 {Another testement of Jesus Christ}
You can know whether a doctrine is true.

"I say unto you that you must study it out in your mind, then you ask me if it is right and if it is right, I will cause that your bosom {heart} shall burn {feel warm} within you. Therefore you shall feel that it is right."

"My voice is spirit, my Spirit is truth"

God speaks to us with the Holy Spirit being His voice, in a manner of speaking.
His voice is felt through the Holy spirit.

"I will impart unto you of my Spirit which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy."

"It {the Holy Spirit} speaketh of things as they really are and of things as they really will be."

The Holy Spirit is our Guide

The Holy Spirit guides you into truth, shows you where to find it, then reveals it to you. The Holy Spirit interprets the scriptures for you. This is how the Holy Spirit is a magnifying glass.

"Howbeit, when He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth."
John 16:13

"We speak not in words which man's wisdom teacheth but which the Holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
1 Corinthians 2:13

The Holy Spirit instructs

"Thou gavest also the good Spirit to instruct them"
Nehemiah 9:20
This would be instruction for our personal life, how to live our lives with the principles.

During prayer to Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. In a way, relaying our confessions, thanks, requests, inquiries, etc to Heavenly Father like {for want of a better analogy} a postman or text message. The holy Spirit is a two way messenger.

"And He {Heavnely Father} that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is in the mind of the spirit {Holy Spirit} because He {Holy Spirit} maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God."
Romans 8:27
When Heavenly Father searches our hearts to know what's there, He looks at us through the Holy Spirit that reveals to Heavenly Father what is in our spirit like a magnifying glass. The Holy Spirit reveals to Him our needs and desires, our intentions. The Holy Spirit also knows our character, He knows the degree we are moral. Heavenly Father then sees what is in our spirits. So Heavnly father then judges our spirit by what He sees.

The Holy Spirit is like a two way magnifying glass that reveals Heavenly Father's wisdom to us and reveals our character, needs and desires to Him. The Holy Spirit adds requests for what we need that we are unaware we need.

The Holy Spirit helps us to discern the character of others, whether they speak the truth or lie.

The Holy Spirit helps us to discern lies or truth in others as well as helping us to understand others, especially those who speak the truth. The Holy Spirit bears witness to their spirit that I am speaking the truth. The Holy Spirit bears witness to my spirit when others are speaking the truth to me.

Luke 11:13 Heavenly Father gives the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him
When Jesus started His ministry, He being the Son of God and Heavenly Father's messenger, there wasn't a need for two messengers, those being Jesus and the Holy Spirit. People could speak directly to God's Son, Jesus, who knows His Father's thoughts, wisdom, desires, purposes, principles, etc and Jesus spoke His Father's will. Speaking to Jesus is like speaking directly to Heavenly Father because they have the same wisdom and purposes. They are in total agreement {One heart, one mind}. Jesus also would know through the Holy Spirit what to communicate with us so there wasn't a need for the Holy Spirit while Jesus was with us. There wasn't a need for the Holy Spirit to relay messages. Jesus was right there to answer their questions and address their needs, grant requests such as healin.

As long as Jesus was personally with them many of their petitions were directed to Him rather than to Heavenly Father because Jesus as Heavenly Father's ambassador was able to take care of them.

In John 7:39 and 16>7 and Acts 1:3-5

John 7:39
"But this spake He {jesus} of the Spirit {Gift of the Holy Ghost} which they who believe on Him should receive. For the Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified."

The Gift of the Holy Ghost hadn't been given which is an ordinance after baptism that hadn't been instituted yet. The Gift of the Holy Ghost is a pirifier. Baptism is symbolic of washing or cleaning like you would if you were bathing. Although a person has bathed there may be something on them that isn't clean, something unclean that isn't seen, germs {for example}. Fire purifies, it sterilizes. Heat at a certian temperature kills bacteria and a fire or flame can kill germs. Thereby sterilizing. The Holy Ghost is kile a fire that sperilizes, purifies us spiritually. It isn't a physical fire that would burn the body, no, it is a spiritual fire that cleanses the soul.

John 16:7
"I tell you the truth. It is expedient for you that I go away... if I depart I will send Him {Holy Spirit as a comforter} unto you."
The Comforter fills you with hope and love. The Comforter will not come if Jesus Christ doesn't go and send Him {The Holy Ghost Comforter}. Then the Holy Ghost's mission begins to be out messenger between us and Heavenly Father.

You may ask, Why not, Jesus continue to be the messenger?
Because Jesus has a body of flesh and bone. It is now a resurrected body, immortal. How ever, Jesus Christ is able to be. only in one place at a time because a physical body can not be in more than one place at a time. Only those people priviledged to be around Him would be able to avail themselves of Him, inquire, request, etc. The Holy Spirit is capable {being refined matter} to communicate with more than one person in more than one place, relaying messages, WHICH IS HOW PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD CAN PRAY TO HEAVENLY FATHER AND RECEIVE COMMUNICATION FROM HIM AT THE TIME OF THEIR NEED. They don't have to wait {take a number}. This is also how Heavanly Father is capapble {also having a body of flesh and bones} of knowing all our needs and requests. and is capable od addressing them as soon as we need them. This process is done through the Holy Spirit.

"Then entered satan into Judas"
Verse 15
"With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you."

John 13:27
"And after the sop {morsel of food at the passover} satan entered into him {Judas}.
Satan can enter and reenter bodies, temporarily, those bodies that have inclinations {Tendencies} to sin.


Jesus visit to Spirit Paradise

Luke 23:43
"And Jesus said unto him {one of those crucified beside Jesus} Today shalt thou be with me in paradise"
Thst is the day when Christ died. His spirit left His body and went to Heavenly Father. He siad in verse 46
"Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit"
After this His spirit left His body and went to Heavenly Father. After being with His Father for that reunion and to receive Heavenly Father's love, gratitude and honor, etc, Jesus Christ visited spirit paradise to announce to spirits there, who had lived on earth and died, and who were waiting for the atonement to be forgiven. Jesus Christ announced there that He had made the atonement.

When one of those who hung on a cross beside Him, died, he would be there too because Jesus Christ had forgiven him. Probably because he defended the Lord when the other person "railed on Him."

In verse 39 the other rebuked him {the raler} saying
"Dost thou not fear God..."

Verse 41
"for we receive the just reward {punishment, just desserts} for our deeds but this man hath done nothing amiss."
The man that was in paradise with Christ that day was humble, he recognized he had done wrong and was justly being punished. Because he was penitant, he was more worthy of forgiveness than the other. He recognized that Jesus Christ was innoscent, good. He also thought the other should be in fear {respect} God. So he probably, at that time, recognized that He was the Son of God. Otherwise why would he think that railing {mocking} Jesus Christ was not fearing God. He, at least, thought God would be offended and he should respect Heavenly Father. He obviously thought disrespecting Jesus Christ was disrespecting Heavenly father.

John 20:17 and Acts 1:3
"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not for I have not yet ascended to my Father."
That was 3 days after the cucifixion when His body was resurrected. He hadn't ascended with His resurrected body to Heavenly Father but His spirit had left His body on the cross and went to Heavenly Father and visited the spirits in paradise.

Acts 2:22
"Ye men of Israel, hear these words, Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God {John 9:33} among you by miracles and wonders and signs which God did by Him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know."
Jesus performed miracles such as healing the sick, healing the blind, the deaf, the lame and raising the dead. This manifested Heavenly father's approval of Him in that He {Jesus} has this ability bestowed upon Him by Heavenly Father.

John 1:1, 14
"In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God."
Verse 14
"And the word was made flesh."
Jesus Christ was approved of God, Heavenly father, when He was with Heavenly father as a spirit {in spirit form}. Heavenly Father choose Him to be the word {a living example of the scriptures, the gospel} and to send Him to earth to receive a body {the word made flesh} to do so.

A Witness of Jesus

John 5:31
"If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true."
If a person claims to be the Messiah and there is not another witness, it isn't true because Heavenly Father would want the world to know who the Messiah really is so he would be believed and they would be saved. Therefore Heavenly father would provide another witness, that witness is Heavenly Father Himself, when Jesus was baptized Luke 3:22
"A voice came from Heaven which said Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
The Holy Spirit bears witness of Jesus Christ to people then and people today, to whoever wants to know.

John 15: 26
"But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me."

John 8:14
"Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true, for I know whence I came...but ye cannot tell whence I come..."
Jesus is saying that He knows whence He came. He knew He came from Heavenly Father, that Heavenly Father spproved of Him, choose Him, ordained Him, gave authority to Him and sent Him to earth to be the messiah, our Savior. So when He bears record of Himself, it is true BUT that would not suffice some of the Jews at the time, such as the pharisees. There would need to be another witness.

That witness was Heavenly Father when He bore witness that Jesus was His Son, at His {Jesus} baptism. However some were not around at the time of His baptism and would only hear about it. The Holy Spirit would be needed to bear witness to those who did not attend His baptism that day. Any of the Jews at that time or this time can pray to Heavenly Father and request that the Holy Spirit bear witness, on the record, that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, Heavenly Father's Son!

Since Heavenly Father had born witness of Him {Jesus} at His baptism, Jesus had the right to bear witness of Himself because Heavenly Father vouched for Him. Earlier Jesus was saying that bearing witness of yourself as the only witness would be untrue because God would provide another witness.

John 5:38-47 and John 6:44

John 6:44
"No man can come {Isaiah 55:3} to me, except the Father draw him and I will raise Him up at the last day {2nd comming}"

1 Corinthians 12:3
"Wherefore I give you to understand that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord {testify}, but by the Holy Ghost."
Therefore no man could know that Jesus is Lord and come to Him to hear Him until the Holy Ghost testifies to his souls that Jesus is Lord. Then they would recognize Him when they see Him and would come to Him and listen to Him. Then the Lord, Jesus Christ would be the mediator between us and Heavenly Father.

WHEN A PERSON HAS A TESTIMONY FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE MESSIAH, A PERSON WOULD BE ABLE TO TRUST JESUS AS A MEDIATOR BETWEEN US AND HEAVENLY FATHER.

People who have this testimony from the Holy Ghost believe what Jesus says. The Holy Ghost draws people to Jesus by testifying to them that Jesus is the Christ, the promised Messiah. Heavenly Father sends the Holy Ghost to testify that Jesus is Lord, to those that do His will, those that are good.

Heavenly Father knows through the spirit those that are good and knows with His foreknowledge how they will choose. He knows that if they were obedient to the laws, Jehovah/Jesus gave to Moses and if they knew through the Holy Spirit {having asked Heavenly father} that Jesus was Jehovah, they would be obedient to Him and whatever laws He was giving to them. After all, if they were obedient to the l;aws of Moses in the absence of God, they would certainly be obedient to God's laws in His presense {God with us}.

In addition those that are righteous have the ability to discern the truth by receiving inspiration or revelation from the Holy Spirit. Those that don't live the laws as they should offend the Holy spirit and would not be able to receive guidance from Him until they repent {clean house}.

That is why some people were followers and believers in Jesus Christ and others weren't. Those that weren't living right offended the Holy Ghost and weren't able to receive a testimony or they weren't asking Heavenly Father for a testimony, to know that Jesus was the Messiah. Perhapps they didn't care to have a testimony. They choose not to ask as some people today choose not to inquire.

Those that are living the laws already revealed through Moses {the ten commandments} are capable of receiving the Holy Ghost and capable of receiving from the Holy Spirit, a testimony of Jesus Christ and would be capable of receiving further knowledge from Him.

The proper translation of John 44 is
"No man can come unto me except he doeth the will of my Father who hath sent me. "
In doing the will of the Father {living the principles} you will have the ability to receive from the Holy Spirit a testimony. Then you will know the will of the Father is to receive and believe His Son, Jesus Christ. Those who desire to do the will of the Father will come unto His Son, Jesus Christ.

Abraham marries his half sister

Abraham says that Sarah is the daughter of my father but not my mother. Sarah became Abraham's wife.

Certain factors arise in relation to this verse (Genesis 20:12). Marriage between such unions would be called incest today; but at that time, marriage was condoned by God, as God never reprimanded Abraham for his marriage to Sarai (Sarah). When Adam and Eve began to have children, who did the children have to marry? There were no other neighbors with which to make marriage contracts with. So the most convenient method would be to marry a brother or sister until nephews and nieces became available. Also, genetic abnormalities were probably not an issue until much later. Intermarriage carried the problem of genetic issues such as hereditary diseases.

started this project of investigating so called "bible inconsistencies" about a month ago and I finally finished it so now I can post my findings.

I address the issues, what appears to be "inconsistencies" that were on a website,
Donald Morgan's [www.infidels.org] and brought up in debate. The list is about 33 pages, so it would be too much to write here. It was a lot to print. Instead I just address the issues brought up in his list.

Donald Morgan said himself and I Quote "Please keep in mind that by "bible inconsistencies" I do not necessarily mean contradictions." Unquote.

Introduction

If a person does not know how to interpret what is written, {for example} because of the language of the time that sometimes has a different meaning when compared to the language of today or doesn't read what is happening at the moment {what is written around the scripture, the verse above or below or other verses within the chapter},or isn't aware of verses in another chapters or books of the bible that would explain that verse, then possibly, a person would misinterpret because of a misunderstanding.

The best way to test rationalizations that explain what is written , to know they are correct, is to compare that rationalization with truth that is already apparent. It really only makes appropraiate sense to test whether a rational is true by what is already known to be true.

As he states "problems {in interpretation} may exist given {what you allow to be} assumptions."

Donald Morgan also says and I quote "It should be kept in mind that a perfect and omnipotent God could, should and likely would see to it that such problems did not exist in a book which s/he had inspired." That is true and that is why God has provided information within that chapter or another chapter or other book that would explain His rational. He has provided truths within the scriptures that are discernable either by reading and study or through the Holy Spirit which magnifies truth and reveals it to our understanding. Thereby helping us to discern it. These truths are given to enable us to discern other truth. They also help to discern what is false. These are what we measure truth by to see is it measures up. The only want you can confirm truth is through the Holy Spirit.

truth does not contradict itself. Truth is in agreement with other truths. Truths are by their nature harmonious with other truths. Truths in the spirit world are joined together into unified truth. Truth doesn't change due to time or circumstances, Truth continues.
However truths are discovered in time due to circumstances. For example, in our constitution, laws have been added as circumstances required.

I begin with Genesis and progress all the way to Revelation. That is how the list was organized and I like order.

There are some issues that involve the personality of God and I address those apart from those involving historical events in history. First I address the history then the personality of God. There are some issues about particular principles that are not just a part of histrory but principles that would relate to today so those also are addressed after history and God's personality.

Genesis

On the first day He {God} caused a darkness to come upon the face of the deep {water vapor in the atmosphere}. Since He caused darkness to come upon an area of the universe {vast amount of space}, where there was a void, there must have been light before the darkness. The reason is because He had to cause a darkness in that void and because God lives in light and He radiates light. 2 Peter 1:5 "God is light"
James 1.17 " ...The Father of lights..." Acts 9:3 "...a light from heaven..."
Psalms 74:16 "The day is thine, the night also is thine, thou hast prepared the light and the sun." Revelation 22.5 "and there shall be no night there and they need no candle, neither light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light...."
2 Corinthiansr 4.6 "For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

God caused a darkness to come upon that area of space, where He planned to create this earth, so that there would be a nightime. It would be a way to measure time. Then He said let there be light. He didn't make the light, it already existed but having caused darkness to be for some time {night time}, He was 'letting" or allowing light to come for some time {day time}, during the 24 hours we call "a day". He said , let there be light here for some time during that 24 hour time. After darkness, He divided the light and day so there would be a measure of time.

On the fourth day He said "Let there be lights in the firmament to give light upon the earth." He made the moon and stars and sun to be the lights to shine on earth. These would be the source of light. that would divide day and night. He {in a way, the only way I know how to describe it without a astronomer's degree}, concentrated some of the light of heaven that already existed into a condensed form and made the "greater light", the sun with it. then he made the moon, the "lesser light", the moon, which merely reflects the light of the sun. He also made the stars and these are the signs that distinguish day and night time. The amount of sunlight upon the earth distinguish the seasons.
