What To Do With The Leftovers?

I guess living in a house of vegetarians, our cats have adapted their tastes. We even have a few who eat vegetables.

One I feel horrible for...there is nothing in life he loves me than a potato...but they do not love him back. How awful to think your favorite food is guaranteed to make you throw up!
When I was growing up, we used to convey food from the kitchen to the dining room on a 2-tier wheeled trolley, which was also used to carry dirty plates and leftovers back to the kitchen. We also had a cat........
.......which quickly realised there could be interesting things to eat on this trolley. Accordingly, we developed a rule that any meat or fish should always be carried on the top deck, to prevent unauthorised (not to mention unhygienic) abstraction. However the cat had an idee fixe that just about anything on this trolley was worth a try. The record for the most inappropriate thing we caught her eating from the lower deck of this trolley - with great gusto - was leftover Brussels sprouts.

Hey, they're good!

I have one that won't eat vegetables until we eat them. In prep, they're not so fun. But after watching us eat, he assumes they must be good...

I'm not opposed to letting the cats 'prewash' the dishes. I don't like the dogs doing it, though. They break stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a great enthusiast for sprouts, as is my teenage son. Just...not for a cat.
