Uplifting Music Videos and Songs

I think this is the right place to post this. As songs of praise and meditation to God and about God are recorded in the Bible. In the Psalms there are prayers for almost any occasion. For times of sadness and depression, to those of happiness and jubilation. There are Psalms that are simply to praise Jehovah. Those are known as the hallels.

The word Hallelujah is a transliteration of Hebrew and means Praise Jah (Jehovah) you People.

I thought I'd share a few of the music videos and songs that I enjoy that uplift and encourage for anyone wanting to enjoy something encouraging. (I would love to be able to embed these videos and audio files.)

This first one is about a normal family and the things they go through. A widow, the parents, and the children. The widow is grieving the passing of her mate, the mother and father have their own problems from pressure at work, finical burdens, the child from getting bullied at school. How they are united and find joy and courage in prayer and spending time together.

This one touches my heart. It's about a immigrant family to a new country and culture. The stress and greif of giving up their old way of life, learning a new one. The bond they make with a Christian family, who in turn goes through their own problems, losing their house to a fire. How they help each other and find true love in serving Jehovah unitedly.

A powerful music video of Joseph and what he went through when sold into slavery and how he never lost his integrity and love for God.

Just Around the Corner about an older couple who lost their child and how their faith is completed when they return to their youth in the new world and receive their daughter back to life in the resurrection!

The New World to Come is another beautiful music video about the resurrection.

This music video is very heart-warming. About a poor single mother in a second or third world country. It might be Mexico, who struggles to make ends meet but never loses focus on her faith and love for God.

Just a beautiful song about finding Joy in serving God and his promises about a beautiful future for humankind.

A beautiful arrangement "He Will Call" comfort for those who have lost loved ones in death.

Hi, I am a Baha'i but I like Christian music better than Baha'i music and I listen to it all day long while I work.
I have many favorite Christian songs but here is my very favorite song:

Being an ex-JW, my favourite Kingdom Melody is "Light in a Darkened World", as the composition appeals to my tastes. There were some other songs I liked too, and they were all from the recently released songs, as they had more depth compositionally to me.

A song that makes me uplifted is Supercrush by Devin Townsend:

A good one:

That song you posted was really heavy. The lyrics are of someone who has given up. "I don't want to save my soul now." For whatever reason. It's the message of a downhearted soul.

Whatever the condition you are in now remember the prophecy of Jesus:

"No bruised reed will he crush, and no smoldering wick will he extinguish, until he brings justice with success. 21 Indeed, in his name nations will hope.”-Matthew 12:20, 21.

I'm very fond of indigenous music....

When I lived in Denver there was a group of Peruvians, I believe, that would travel from mall to mall like this and play their music. I always enjoyed to stop and listen. Even bought a recording of theirs I still have.

To be honest, I have never read or listened to the lyrics, as I am not a lyrics person. The music itself is uplifting because it sounds ethereal to me.

Oh MAN I love the choir versions of the kingdom melodies, it is brilliant.

As for me Supercrush doesn't reflect my actual feelings in terms of its lyrics as my live is pretty good :) Thanks for the scriptural reference.

Me too. Have you listened to some of the vocal arrangements they have been coming out with? There are some really beautiful ones that I just love listening to.

I think these three are my favorites:

From the review, Wait a Minim, which I saw a few times in London in 1964/5, and where apartheid was still in force in South Africa - the review was of course anti-apartheid. Moved to the USA in 1966 I believe so some might have seen this. I also saw Jeremy Taylor perform once too, doing his 'Ag Pleez Deddy'. (The 'n' word is said, but this was a different era).

I must say that what I am impressed by is the creative changes the organisation has been making over past couple of years, from the beautiful illustrations in the Imitate their Faith book to the composition and presentation of the music used in Kingdom halls. Song 22 was my favourite of the above three.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Wauauquikuna has always been my favorite indigenous group ever since I saw them.

I think busking is a great thing because of the informal environment and how the crowds gather around people to enjoys their messages and art. It's a wonderful way to spend your time.

Another favorite is Abby the spoon lady. I never really was much into hearing spoon music but her talent is so incredible and it's so down home it just gives you a happy all around feeling.

Here's one of the Christian theme songs they play that I enjoy. They're not busking here yet the music is the same. Just happy and puts a smile on your face.....

This isn’t a professional video, it is probably from this boy’s father recording him from the audience (and annoyingly fiddling with the buttons while doing so), but the voice is beautiful.
