Here's a really good anti-war song from the 80s. Listen to it a few times:

Congregation splits!

Well they blew the horns
And the walls came down
They'd all been warned
And the walls came down
They stood there laughing
They're not laughing anymore
The walls came down
Sanctuary fades
Congregation splits
Nightly military raids
The congregation splits
It's a song of assassins
Ringin' in your ears
We got terrorist thinking
Playing on fears
Well they blew the horns
And the walls came down
They'd all been warned
But the walls came down
I don't think there are any Russians
And there ain't no Yanks
Just corporate criminals
Playin' with tanks
Ya ya ya ya ya ya
Ya ya ya ya ya ya
Ya ya ya ya ya ya
Ya ya…

Hey Mods, please fix the title by putting the letter T in front, "There..." thanks.

A much better anti-war song...or story....or song.
It doesn't blame businesses for voters electing war mongers.
Now, let's all sit on the Group W Bench, & listen to....

Mein liebsling Anti-Kriegslied der 80s ist "99 Luftballons", das Nena gesungen.

My favorite anti-war song of the 80's is "99 Luftballons" sung by Nena.

As an involuntary Veteran of the Vietnam Era, I applaud this.

It seems 'Ike' had the foresight to warn of this, what he termed the 'military industrial complex'.

Eisenhower expressed concerns about the growing influence of what he termed the military-industrial complex.

implicationswe must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence…The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. Eisenhower cautioned that the federal government’s collaboration with an alliance of military and industrial leaders, though necessary, was vulnerable to abuse of power. Ike then counseled American citizens to be vigilant in monitoring the military-industrial complex. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Ike also recommended restraint in consumer habits, particularly with regard to the environment. As we peer into society’s future, we–you and I, and our government–must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without asking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage.
