Liebe ist für alle da
The Undead, what is it about them that intrigues us about them. Weather it's form the Modern day Vampire, like Dracula, The Vampires of Ann Rice, or even the one from WhiteWolf's: Vampire the Requiem.
Or Zombies, form George A. Remaro's Night of the Living Dead, to the video games like Left 4 Dead, to book like the Zombie Survival Guide, we seem to love. the idea of a Zombie Apocalypse.
I myself must say I have a love afar with the Undead. I love reading about them, playing them in games, knowing more about them and how they play a role in are lives from the Dawn of Time till now. I still have a lot to learn.
I only gave two examples up there, but there are a lot more Undead.
Here a list of some more:
* Vampires
* Zombies
* Banshee
* Frankenstein
* Ghosts
* Ghouls
* Poltergeist
* Revenants
* Skeletons
* Wraith
* Spectres
* Liches
* Ghasts
* Mummies
And this my not be all of them(if you have more to add please do).
There are some books out there that are good on the study of the Undead, and some that are not so much but can be taken just for fun. I will give you the one I have and tell you if I think there good for a study of the Undead from around the world, or just one can read for fun and not need to take serious:
Encyclopedia of the Undead
Zombies: A Field guide to the Walking Dead
Vampires: A Field guide to the Creatures that Stalk the Night
All the above by Dr. Bob Curran and Illustrated by Ian Daniels. I have found that these are good book for the study of the Undead, Dr. Curran has gone around and studied Undead being from all around the world and know what he talking about.
The Vampire Hunter's Hand book by Raphael Van Hellsing. This book is for fun, while it might take idea from myths about Vampire, the book is set up as a book to help you hunter them, not to be taken as real. But can give you good ideas for RPGs.
The Vampire Watcher's Handbook: A guide for Slayers by Constantine Gregory. I's say for fun, it's an interesting read from the point of view of a Catholic Priest.
Vampires the Occult Truth by Konstantinos. I thought this one was interesting and the first part of the book is ok, but the 2nd half is letters from real life Vampires. Take it as you will.
If there are any books you have and reccomend please share them, weather the ones for fun, or a good resorce.
