Living.
No questions about it. Why do you ask?
Tom
I'll go with 'living'.
Not usually. Maybe one in a billion or so.Does the sperm grow and multiply?
No, it merges with the egg.Does the sperm grow and multiply?

Tom
No, it merges with the egg.
Your question was whether or not sperm and ovum are living. The sperm by itself doesn't multiply and doesn't grow.
Is this going to be another thread where people spend a lot of time teaching you elementary biology?
Tom
Because it is the merger of two living things to make one living thing. What is the point you are getting at?So why you regard it as a living thing?
Neither do infants. The sperm by itself doesn't multiply and doesn't grow.

Neither do infants.
Tom
Not only is a zygote a living organism, it is a human being.I didn't say the zygote, which is even not a living organism yet, anyway
Do you regard your skin, liver or nerve cells as living or nonliving matter? Are they regarded a living matter or non living matter?
Not by themselves.Infants do grow.
Not by themselves.
By themselves they die of dehydration or something.
Tom
No they won't.Regardless, they'll grow
