We had a load of wood for heating delivered today. The wood store is a bit tricky to get to, along a narrow lane with a slight S bend.

The vendor knows this and usually brings the wood in two deliveries in the back of a pickup truck.

Today he turned up with a farm tractor and huge flatbed trailer with built up sides full of oak logs.

I heard hubby saying to the vendor "if you can get that up this lane i will kiss your arse"

He spent the rest of the day spitting and saying "euk, what a driver"

Well this is the jokes section isnt it?

you in the southern region?

North east Aquitaine, Perigord noir (black), so called because of the dense dark oak forests.

Although some say its because of the black truffle that grows under oak trees

Where are you?

southern alberta, looking at the rocky mountains right now to the west, can finally see them after a week of smoke from the forest fires.

I don't know, but I haven't had need for an eraser for a long time.
I still do drafting with a pencil.
So I use erasers.
I even use an electric one...they're wonderful for precise work.
Btw, I never use those abrasive red rubber ones....they're crap.
No, they're worse than crap. A turd would be better at erasing.
Although....I've not tried that yet.
OK....I'm done digressing in this post.

The mountains around here are not so tall so not really rocky. They mostly don't rise much above the treeline.

Must be such a relief for you to be able to see them again

well, they are still lurking like ships in the fog, but at least they are visible
and they are only about a half hour drive, to get into the foothills, so, not that far away.

Mr Ice Cream Shop Steam Engines skirt for his
base looked wrong with a clear finish....the wood
was too light in color compared to the base.
So I painted it black.

“Imagination is more intoxicating than any drink, more addictive than any drug.
One way or another, we are all hooked on dreams.
Those who deny this
and who claim to have a clear grip on reality
are the most dangerously deluded of all.”
